Typical Knee Jerk action
yeah this pretty much forces anyone that wasnt using celestial into using celestial. They never think these things through. Non celestial ele was extremely mediocre and underpowered in spvp. They add in celestial amulet and suddenly ele is op. What’s the solution? nerf ele as a whole rather than nerf celestial making celestial mandatory now because the underpowered non celestial specs that couldn’t compete before against other classes in spvp and will be even weaker now.
no one cared about burn uptime until celestial. so it can go both ways. these are good changes.

No its not, lets say if you play D/F berserker, you would have a nice 3s burn before you return back to fire now only 2s.
Was D/F berserker so OP that it should be nerfed?
d/f berserker relied on burns?

Meta dose changes how things are balances other pvp games work like this if something new becomes the big thing because other things where removed then that new big thing tends to be hit even if it was something there a long time ago. You do not simply balances things from what the game was back when it first came out you balances things base off of what going on in the now.
Might is used by all classes it is crazy easy to stack it up high and get high use out of it. It allows ppl to be super def AND do super dmg with out trying. It also keeps other builds such as fury builds out of the meta.

d/f berserker relied on burns?
For a burst spec that get any sort of sustained damaged is good for my point of view. Specially if you don’t invest anything it is there and it is %33 nerfed now, while it was OP for D/F Berserker, yeah right.
Anet’s MO has always been to nerf around the problem instead of the problem directly. They almost always fail, ending up damaging builds other than the one they wish to nerf. But they still love doing it this way.
……OR:
The might change, internally at Anet, was not only due to celestial ele, it was just one motivating factor.
If there were several aspects/areas of the game they wanted to tweak, nerfing just celestial would only address one or two of those areas whereas the might nerf could possibly address several.
Naturally I can’t say that for certain, I am just guessing.
