Agreed. Ive gotten so used to this tho, that I can time it pretty well. With AW and AB, I seem to do ok now with BF’s and I only run staff.

as for sigils, they’re changing sigils to encourage us to use a full set of six instead of using 2/2/2…
example:
Runes changes
Big pass on all runes, making them all consistent with each other. (i.e. What % something proc, What % health trigger etc). Every single rune set pretty much changed. If you want to speculate on the runes on the TP, it is recommended to buy all sets.
Superior Rune of the ranger – 6 pt bonus didn’t do anything. It will be changed.
We moved stat weights to later bonuses (i.e. 4, 5, 6) so people don’t use mix-match rune bonuses.
Example: Superior rune of strength changed to 1) +25 power, 2) 10% might duration, 3) 50 power, 4) 15% might duration and 25% chance when struck to gain might for 10s with 10s cooldown 5) 100 power, 6) 20% might duration, +5% damage under might.

compare the “new” sigil of strength to the “old” sigil of strength. the old sigil set gave a total of 20% might duration in a full set of 6… the new sigil gives 45% might for a full set.
so sure, going 2/2/2 won’t be as good anymore, but going full 6 gives you more stats and more benefit (such as more damage while might stacked) i hope a similiar 6 set bonus will show on the 6 set bonuses for the boon duration sigils. (maybe higher healing while under a boon)
so, while still a nerf to duration, it may balance out with higher potency

There’s a chance for that. Thanks for responding. oZii predicted they’d change rune of water to give the full 45% now, and they’d compensate that way.
This patch could screw up my build, or it could buff it. I won’t take high night duration if it means sacrificing toughness or regeneration. I love perma regen.
I also rely on fury from attunement swaps
So we will see. I am trying to have confidence they’ll do this in a way which is positive for eles. As they seemed excited to buff them.
The two things concerning me at this point are: the eles who made celestial gear could see heavy handed nerfs in it and the potential jump in condition tanks.

I propose for burning speed to get a nerf already. Against a good d/d ele player….. it will be a lot more troublesome to defeat with my s/d or s/f ele :P.

Sadly I just started to play a zerk d/f build with amazing burst and good survival due to focus and earth trait points. But I think I’ll have to switch back to a full fledged condition bunker build due to crit damage nerf and the fact that it is now possible to stack sigil of doom and sigil of geomancy/torment.
Then again, stacking sigil of blood and fire might be interesting for zerk.

If you don’t like the way ele plays currently, just wait until the new weaponsets come. I’m waiting for a viable hit and run build on ele. I’ve moved on to thief until it happens.

So, you are judging the entire patch, including all the unannounced balance changes and all the “new stuff they can’t reveal yet” (probably new skills or new traits) based on a few (very positive) preview buffs?
Very unsatisfied with crit dmg changes..just changed all my gear to celestial to be more survivable in WvW and therefore went down the crit/crit dmg route instead of crit/power,hope we get to swap stats on the gear we already invested in..furthermore I dont understand why they buff d/d when staff still needed love and d/d was fine as it was?
Most of all I find it kittened to make changes to the basics of the game(hence new ferocity stat) so short after they introduced ascended gear..people will have to re-evaluate their gear choice now..not to freaking smart…and I am for sure not grinding 60 new laurels for another set…Very unprofessional to change game basics after the new gear and not at the same time.
… This whole balancing is pointless. Nothing changes anyway. “Big balancing” was promissed and – again – it was … way too less. I hope there is more aside those mentioned points but this is poor.
