Here’s the deal, Updraft consistently places me BEYOND my target instead of back in the direction I initiated it from. On average I would say 4/5 times this happens, especially when used with RTL.

It is incredibly annoying having to manually pan my camera and turn my character to follow up with burning speed whittling away those vital microseconds in our rotation.

My situation and playstyle:

180-225 ms ping due to the distance to EU servers. (yes it sux, there’s nothing I can do to improve it)
90% of the time I have right mouse button depressed to control the camera.

Do any of you experience a similar problem or know a way around this?

I have experienced something similar largely when doing RTL followed by an up draft – personally I gave up on rtl (way too buggy in general let alone with ping/lag issues). One alternative to Lightning flash right on top of them and then up draft, burning speed etc.
It’s pretty instantaneous and catches a few players out as an opening move.
P.S. LF also has the added advantage of knowing when you’re in range unlike RTL.

Yeah man, I’m playing from South Africa to Europe. Incredibly frustrating with latency orders of magnitude above those in the US and EU. I can only dream of the smooth and responsive gameplay I see on my guild mates videos.

I figure we just adapt and do the best we can while secretly wishing they’d suffer a similar experience to know what we deal with on a daily basis.
