I have a question, How does one counter a thief? Im a new Ele and slowly learning. Ive got done what to do and what class can do what and what i should look for and avoid but it seem Thief are my only problem class. Any Advice?

P.S Im using D/D and its the basic meta build.

eles should have an equal fight against thieves.
i am a very new ele myself and i dont know how they do it, but every time i see an ele fight a thief, its a draw, with the ele having a slight advantage.

Hmmm….Im thinking its just a “Get good noob” Situations since im new but maybe their are things i need to watch for.

Save your deffensive skills (mostly auras and protection when earth swap) to survive at their burst and use your most offensive skills when they are CC’d or revealed. When they go stealth just health you up, gain a little might and dodge if you feel like they are going to burst you in a certain moment, you have a reliable dodge capacity with energy sigil

All about timing, being quick to damage them when they are revealed. Having AoE ready if they SR, etc.

Once you face enough thiefs you can get pretty good at fighting them. Mesmers are the same way, altho atm they are pretty OP so even bad ones are super tough.

Ele and thief are pretty equal now. It all comes down to who the better player is. Make a thief and learn their skills. then you’ll know what to expect and can counter them more effectively.

Sigil of energy and stun breaks. Dodge like a monkey and try to immob him when his initiative is low. apply condi pressure and AoE on youself.
