We are fixed
Anet is very fast in fixing “overpowered” Elementalist bugs but very slow (they are still all there) in fixing important issues. Funny

Also noticed that, but it doesn’t seem fair to our proffesion, some bugs are waiting to be fixed for months

It’s also very funny how the two skills they fixed Magnetic Grasp and Ride the Lightning happen to be two of the bugged ones since beta. I wonder if with this change they also fixed the self-stun “feature” although I doubt it, they hadn’t done it in 3 months why do it now?
The fix is welcomed!
I just hate to see how people always complain when an advantageous bug gets fixed fast.
Why on Earth,Fire,Water and Air would you want to abuse a clear bug like 1min fury&swift&prot and instant full reset att. cd ?
Also:
EA fix was a good fix.
On a personal note: EA is not fun, EA is kitten – storm in roll = profit. EA with blasts on every attunement was full kitten
I don’t want to sir up spirits with this reply, but some of us need a tweak when it comes to fair game-play.

Hi there, have you met Engineer?
Kidding aside, I’m an engineer who’s trying to roll an Elementalist and seriously I’m loving it. Elementalists and Engineers are quite similar, with elems changing attunements and engineers changing kits to fit in the situation. The only difference is elems do massive damage while we engineers did crap damage pre-patch and post patch.

It’s not the fact that they fixed that I have a problem with. It’s the fact that those exact skills they fixed have been bugging constantly since beta stunning the user (for 3 months now, reported a thousand times) and they only fix their latest imbalance instead of fixing the skills completely. That’s the problem.

I’ve tried to play Engi, but the class just don’t fit my expectations (I’m basically more a “caster” person or the “kitten” person – Thieves etc. ). I agree that Ele can push out some impressive damage, yes. But you’re so weak in the terms of defence and survival with those builds, that you can hardly do a high-lvl content with those. Thieves/warriors/guardians are much more survivable even in the zerker equipment and GC build, so they are better for pure dmg role… However we have some superior support/control abilities and that really counts if played correctly

Then we’re on the same page; nothing else to do here beside waiting and see what changes / improves.
Though I personally don’t think anything major is gonna happen for quite a few more months.
Enjoy the game.
I HAVE A SOLUTION
Let’s ask for a buff to arcane power in the hope that after the buff there is an exploit to its functionality and when they ‘fix’ that ‘bug’ then arcane power will work as it should!

Or it will end up like the Evasive Arcana and will make crit only one spell in the end
I think, for balance reasons, it’s easier to nerf something than to buff it. When you nerf a spec, people will stop using it as frequently or not at all, so the user has to compensate for the loss by finding other builds. When you buff a spec, players will be more likely to use it and everyone its being used on will need to compensate for their relative decrease in power.
In the case of RTL, the pathing issues may be more difficult to resolve than the attunement reset bug. There are also some traits that just aren’t working. There’s little excuse for that :/

I’d say the answer to this is pretty obvious. The fix here was a simple bug fix, whereas the fix for RTL and grasp is a technical challenge. It’s not about them not wanting to fix it, it’s about them being able to do it.
They took a whole month to fix mist form’s reduced cooldown so that it would actually get a reduced cooldown, even though they “fixed” it the last patch.
It took them a day or two to fix the protection+fury+swiftness OP bug from the magnetic grasp combo.
I’m all for them taking out unfair exploits but they also need to spend as much diligence fixing bugs that hurt the player.
Guys…they have fixed plenty bugs that affect us negatively.
I find it funny that so many people here are basically complaining that these bugs were fixed.
Just remember, bugs like these that affect elementalists positively, affect EVERY OTHER CLASS negatively.

uh, no people were not complaining just because these bugs were fixed. Most people are complaining that it takes them months to fix the negative bugs, but mere days to fix bugs such as these.

Hi guys. Another retired Engineer here. I rolled an Elem this weekend to get him ready for the WvW update in February. From an Engineer’s perspective, I fully understand how you guys feel regarding bugs, but I just wanted to make sure you knew it could be worse.

What about the since-beta-persistent Air-attunement-switch-attacking bug? And lot of other skills with the same behaviour (f.e. arcane wave even if it doesn’t hit anything or Thief traps, I’m pretty sure there are lot of skills with that behaviour among all classes). That’s the reason why most of ppl switch off the auto-targetting or even auto-attacking with #1 ability.
This also hurts all classes (hinders player experience for game, because he must do a lot of things manually and targetting by mouse/tab isn’t my favourite action in combat, especially where there is a mix of friendly and enemy characters).
This shouldn’t be hard to fix (a lot of skills are working correctly now – all other attunements for example), so why it is still in-game after three and something months?
Also some traits not working at all (+15% movement speed with daggers), which is quite outrageous.
