I remember being able to use sigils that had effects when you swap weapons but instead swapping attachments but I recently crafted the Tear of Grenth which comes with a superior sigil of hydromancy (chills foes around you for on 3 second when you swap weapons) already on it but when I went into WvW to test it our it does not seem to work neither does my superior sigil of battle (grants 3 stacks of might when you swap weapons). this hasn’t been nerfed or changed has it?
As far as i know, no. My Hydro Sigil on my staff works :o however you cna’t have 2 weapon swap sigils active at same time so its either might or hydro
Those weapon swapping sigils only trigger their effects when you are in a combat situation.

Then tbh I have no idea what is going on. You should have at least 1 of the effects, like someone already said on the above, only 1 swap sigil works. Which means, you still gotta have 1 effect on in normal situation…

The Hydromancy sigil (on my Mystic dagger) worked for me as of this morning post-patch. Switching atunements did properly trigger the chill effect.
i have a question about this too but it’s a PVP sigil. The one that says: Your next attack after swapping to this weapon does (insert condition here).
i tried the one that Poisons. I tried it on golem dummies, stance dancing and whatnot to try it out but i saw it only proc’d once. do these things have an internal CD of some sort?
All the swapping sigils have a CD, 9sec if i’m not wrong
The weapon swapping sigils have a 9 sec cd, as mentioned above. I have tested the ones (in PvP) that don’t list a cool down, such as life steal on next hit after swapping, and it does not seem to work. On my warrior, on weapon swap you get a necrotic bite looking buff that says next skill will steal some health. However on trying with my elementalist there is no such buff when swapping -weapons- attunements nor do I gain any health. This test was conducted against the warrior in PvP area after he had attacked me at least once.
Actually there are quite a few weapon swapping sigils that I have found to be non-functional. There is one that inflicts poison with your next attack after swapping, doesn’t work when I had it put on an equipped staff. “Chills nearby foes” doesn’t work for me on a staff either and neither do numerous others.
All tested in combat, money wasted in the testing. (Shrug)

(B) Elementalists
Switching attunement counts as a weapon swap, but “your next attack […]” type sigils do not work properly. This is almost certainly a bug, and I suspect it’s because of the the additional effects that already happen whenever you switch attunement. Sometimes you see the icon in your effects monitor, but for some reason it never seems to work properly.In other words, Sigils of Leeching, Doom and Intelligence are currently useless for an Elementalist, but Geomancy, Hydromancy, Energy and Battle do work properly. Furthermore, if you’re going to use one of these sigil types on an Elementalist, you should be aware that there is a 9s ICD, and swapping with a bundle equipped does not count for the purposes of weapon swap sigils.
