Q:
What Are Effective PVP Rotations Post Patch?
I play Staff Bunker. Generally start out of combat with Air or Fire. Swap to Water when get Low. Reswap to Earth for Stability → Ether Renewal. Cycle back to Air or Fire. Repeat.
If you don’t react to your opponents in PVP you’re gonna have a bad time.
While not a rotation, I have been playing s/d cele ele with air/water/arcana
Taking water cooldown reductio (CDR) is SOOOO unreasonably strong with this build: 4.5K heal and 2 condis cleared every water swap (basically) plus frost aura (skill) every 27s, and cleansing wave every 27s.
In air I take fresh air and fresh air, air training, and one with air to get good burst, excellent map mobility (hello 27s RtL and high super-speed uptime), and more frequent updrafts.
I find d/f extremly effective post. I run water/arcana/air. You can do slot of damage with the Lightning bolt on CC trait, and just basic rotations. Running celestial, you get very decent burn damage. It’s woerd…I just kind of happen to kill things while maintaining fantastic control.
Well I think the rotation you mentioned is still good… F->E->W->L->F etc etc because a good rotation like this one let’s you stack so much might.
But like people above said, you also need to react to your opponents.
So basically I follow that rotation when im allowed to do so and I can freely dps someone, and instead switch to what Attunement is actually needed depending on the situation when Im under focus and or I need that specific skill to CC someone or whatever.

This was my rotation pre-patch:

I am still working on what it is post-patch myself.
80 Necromancer (IRNY), 80 Guardian (IRNY)
GW2: it’s like DAoC, but for the WoW crowd.
PVP and rotations mates not good. In this respect, a spec with Fresh Air is still realtiv the best, though not optimal. PVP live by direct reaction to surprising situations. That can Ele not. The class was rather not designed in terms of PVP. ^^
Everything from a solo perspective, in Premades can Ele be very strong.

The best rotation is to not have a rotation that’s focused on one thing. Fight accordingly to the situation is the secret. Just a small example. See a thief about to stealth from pistol 5? Walk up and pop shocking aura and then use burning speed + lighting flash on the point where he heartseekers and hits you because he’ll 100% be stunned on the spot there while stealthed.
Blinded? Use burning speed on someone who thinks you’re blinded and just before it lands, swap to water to cleanse it and to grab the fury. Small things like that you have to think about and you’ll be fine.

+1 TY all. Been playing with d/d and s/f. I’m still a bit uncoordinated tho. Lol.
In ranked pvp, eles are more likely to focus on the objective instead of chasing people around with all the high deeps going on. A few ranked matches felt like a hotjoin circus….except you can’t leave or swap teams.
If you play D/D or D/F the trick to “offensive rotations” is to build might as efficently as possible, which means maximizing fire field blasts and leaps to get tons of might and fire auras (which can be traited to give more might). So that means fire field, earth, blast by rolling/magnetic leap, 4 skill, water for frozen burst.
Other than that use air autos a lot, don’t sit in water/earth too long, and use drake’s breath/burning speed as much as you can.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..

+1 Thanks for the tip.
Right now I am playing d/d. Mesmers can be a royal pain so I try to get close enough to apply burn on them after capping.
Don’t focus on building might over landing your skills though. I see many eles do that and get 20+ might but do no damage lol. Other than that, you can check out phantarm’s video for d/d rotations

Hi ReaperJr, yeah, building might isn’t second nature for me as of yet so I tend to lose focus. I know you veteran eles build might as easy as breathing but I’ll get there…maybe.
Noticed eles are popular on classes to nerf list but I think people that post those don’t play ele. IMO eles are nowhere near as annoying as rampage warriors, Mesmer lockdowns and MM necros.
