Hello everyone,
I am currently out leveling my girl and have decided to level an alt while I wait up for her. I have a guardian and mesmer almost level 40, a thief almost level 20 and level 3 necro. I am wondering what class you think would be an enjoyable alternate playstyle for a D/D elementalist who thoroughly enjoys sPvP (only rank 26 atm though).

Since sPvP and PvE are so far apart I am not exactly sure how your play style factors in to leveling. Since you have 2 40s and a 20 you likely have a feel for leveling so if none of those is motivating you then you still have 3 options.

Engineer is the closest class to us with kits etc but you likely wont play it the same as ele. Warrior is pretty straight forward and almost all weapon combos are fine for leveling. Ranger (my main alt) is pretty much broken. Whats funny is that in that brokenness is where i find the challenge. Pets not being able to dodge aoe forces the player into pet micro management which for me is half the fun since it requires more effort over all than ele to play well. However you could just pew pew and then it would be about the same as all the others.

Perhaps solving the main issue is a better solution. If your girl friend is lagging behind than you have a couple of options actually. You can have her catch up using crafting. Or you could give her exp boost as you level without them including food (which only marginally helps).

In the long run its up to you. Since you like sPvP just take each class in there and get a feel for them.

I like my level 8 warrior.

Mesmer, Engineer and Thief.

I left thief to play elementalist. It… It’s a terrible class, in my opinion. Elementalist is the most fun I’ve had since I played the game. I wasted 10 weeks playing thief.

But that’s just my opinion.

tbh if you’re higher level you can still play alongside your gf, you get downlevelled remember.

my alts are a conditions mesmer, support engineer and a support warrior. (my main ele is also support)

Thanks for the responses! I am going to give each class a good twenty games in sPvP before deciding. By that time she will most likely be up with me!

Ranger and Mesmer here next to my Ele. Although I like the Ranger a bit better than the Mesmer atm I’m only playing PVE though

Got an 80 Guardian, 25 Ranger, 30 Mesmer and 10 Necro – They live in the basement and I only see them when my Elementalist is doing the laundry XD. Think I may drop the Necro and roll another warrior although I find them boring as hell.
