What is the best sigil for a D/D and staff?
Can’t go wrong with Battle and bloodlust. And remember you can swap out bloodlust weapon for different when you have reached the 25 stacks.
Can’t say I have done calculations for it, but you prolly want closer to 40%+ crit (with fury) for reliable fire sigil. You’ll have that with auramancer 10air, crit damage runes and a few pieces with percission.
Battle Sigils were worth like 30 silver before bunker eles became popular
bloodlust is the same way… trust me go major unless you have 16 gold for 2 superior atm
I haven’t figured out my 2nd Dagger Sigil yet, but one is Sigil of Battle. Trick here is making sure the sigils stack well. But it also depends a lot on tactics. For example, if you use a lot of Fire with daggers, the 10% burning may be a good choice for you. If you go other way with critical, maybe something that triggers on crits like Fire would be good.
That being said, I use Sigil of Fire on my staff; I nuke a lot and tend to hover on fire so it helps a lot (usually 35-45% crit damage). Sigil of Battle is also good for staff; I eventually plan to put it on a Soldier’s Staff when I get it (since it has no crit in stats so I wouldn’t use if it were critting).
Bloodlust is a good choice if you don’t die a lot. I may use it on dagger if I get the hang of the better and live most fights. Hydromancer is another good one I think, the chill one; but I don’t think it stacks well with Battle.
Personally, I’d suggest Fire on Staff (Battle if you don’t crit) and Battle+Bloodlust on daggers (assuming you don’t die too often). If you wanted to swap out the Bloodlust dagger after you get to 25; I got no idea what to suggest. Maybe even a Sigil of Force.
You can use sigil of blood if your critical chance is pretty high. Sigil of force (+5% dmg) ain’t bad choice either. For bunker ele you can go with much cheaper stacking sigil – sigil of life (healing).
But I agree, sigil of battle is just a must for d/d ele.
For my D/D build i use a sup sigil of purity and a sup sigil of energy, no extra added damage but the condition removal and recharged endurance upon kills is really noticed.

Anyone using sigil of battle and sigil of strength? Sigil of strength default 10 sec Might can be affected by Boon duration?
Or Sigil of battle can be pair with Sigil of Perception for Crit build D/D
Guild KöMÉ – §Strength, Honour & Duty§
Remember that Proc sigils (Fire, Air, etc) and Swap sigils (Battle) share a cooldown.
Personally I would do 2 rares with your stacking sigils (so you only have to kill 13 mobs to get 25 stacks), and then exotics with Battle and Force/Accuracy. That’s for WvW ofc, where it is pretty easy to find a secluded spot to kill mobs and not need the higher stats of the exotic daggers

Battle, energy and blood are i think the most solid choices for mainhand, but ther´s niche builds that can benefit from others, like 100% chance of critical after swapping etc.
Offhand is tricky because of the strange cooldown system, so it´s basicly, stacking sigil, force/accuracy or on kill effects.
Stacking sigil you should have on a spare weapon anyway. Bloodlust is most popular choice, but cond dmg or precision are nice boosts, precision one even more so if you use chance on crit kinda stuff (heal on crit food for example).
Force and accuracy are nice effects if you don´t really need other stuff, see above for why accuracy can be solid choice too.
On kill sigils can be awesome, but they do require the kill to activate, rendering them useless in many boss fights etc. Best one imho is stamina.

If you swap attunements regularly, without any boon duration buffs, Sigil of Battle gives you 6 stacks of might (210 power & 210 condition damage). There’s no sigil that comes close to that. With boon duration buffs, it goes up as high as 315.
To be honest, I think they should tone it down a bit. Getting nearly a 20% damage boost from a signet is just crazy.

Not easily balanced when you factor the weapon switching and in-combat requirements.
I like the off hand to have sigil of generosity. The one where you have 60% to xfer back any conditions on you.
So mh is air, off hand that.
I have 4 daggers for my D/D Ele
Sigil of Bloodlust: to stack Power on kill
Sigil of Battle: to stack Might, offensive proc sigil, useful everywhere but most often in Events and certain DPS dungeon encounters
Sigil of Energy: for Endurance management, defensive proc sigil, very useful in Events with lots of red circles and those dungeon bosses that require extra dodging
Sigil of Force: for extra damage, when Bloodlust reaches 25 stacks
