What is the problem?
People are trying new things out. Nothing is settled usually what is strong will rise to the top and then players will find possible counters. Usually when things change everyone is trying to find their damage then later they try to find the defense/counters. Right now everyone is trying to find their damage for most part.

So going tanky is strong with everyone going full glass, you mean?

I’m more saying that people will probably roll builds that are close to what they use to run but checking to see if it still plays the same. People tend to prioritize offense over defense. So if there is a new build they are trying I would bet it is a damage build could be glass possibly.
Really what has to settle is the counter to your build if your build becomes a meta build. That is usually one of the last things to happen.

Pve-s in soloq, so no real change. Don’t worry, we will settle as the free kill once again soon enough…

Getting the better score means nothing btw. Also that rune makes no sense, given your build.
In my opinion there are three things going on:
1. Experienced players are experimenting with new builds.
2. Lots of new PvE players are trying PvP for the first time.
3. All of the other classes have had various nerfs which in turn brought Ele up.

Extra toughness, the regen scales slightly with healing power and sometimes every bit helps.

The rune IS PART of the build. With a different rune, it would be a different build. better scores mean something. What are you even trying to say?
Elementalist got a lot stronger that patch, or is it due to the nerfs of the other classes or due to the masses of PvE players doing PvP right now.
So I main elementalist around 1500 hours of playing elementalist and 300 hours in playing other classes. The only reason I ever bothered playing other classes is/was because elementalist was really bad in pvp after especially the nerf bat that hit our signet of restoration and the mistform ether renewal combo.
As for the current situation. Happy to know that the signet of restoration was returned withing acceptable boundaries to where it is actually usable now in pvp. As for tankiness. If you spec for it ofcourse you’re gonna survive a 1v2 but beating them is only possible if they’re complete noobs or mess up big time. I play a S/F glass cannon fresh air build with runes of air and sigil of air so my burst is about 10k dmg with 5 lightning bolts which puts most of my atunements on CD plus ya need to press approximately 15 buttons in 4 seconds to have it be called a burst. Fire scepter 2 in fire and water and earth are pretty much useless in pvp except maybe that fire scepter 2 is a blast finisher.
D/D eles like yours are the ones I target down first.
As for my experience with other classes. I really like the engineer and necromancer because I rarely ever die with them. Engineer because I can stay at 1500 range and run away when I get targetted with an 1800 range jump. With my necromancer because minions heal and remove conditions automatically and I can just concentrate on auto-attacking aka bursting down anybody. Can take down medium armor folk in 4 seconds with auto attack… Wanna see you try that with elementalist…
All the pve players running without stunbreaks make me a happy ele.

Cool! I must admit, I’m not nearly as experienced as you, I have 900 hours as ele and about a hundred on other classes. I know these burst combos, but I simply like the feeling more of being rather tanky, as ele’s die sooo quickly otherwise. The AoE on ele does mean though that it feels like 1 v 2’s are entirely possible, as long as you evade the important attacks (and sure they could be noobs). I don’t know if you’ve tried tanky, but I love it. ;D Then you don’t need to put all your attunements on cd. It’s still cool that you still can to do high bursts, and yeah, I don’t play scepter because of the single target and quite low sustained damage.
What I mean is: not everything is fixed, and there are still lots of useless things in all classes, but for now, I’m hapy with how things are!

if the only time u are getting seriously beaten is to other eles, you’re fighting trashcans. Eles have significant disadvantage vs mesmers thieves warriors and engineers and certain builds can completely lock us out of matches completely. Also your build calls for windborne dagger which is useless considering the size of tpvp maps. Perma vigor is 100% better.

I started as a healing tanking elementalist for the first 800-900 hours of playing. Quit doing that because of the nerf to signet of restoration. Without it it was impossible to pvp.
Recently before I went S/F I went Staff bunker and was able to survive 4v1’s (mostly noobs though). And survive was all I was able to do and some group support with aoe heals. Then I went zerker staff with 7k meteor shower. If y’r lucky enough to have two meteors hit the same person you could call it a burst :p. Problem is that it is heavily telegraphed and easily interruptible. Basically zerker staff means that if anybody see where y’r at y’r gonna die real fast.
I also define bunker in two categories:
Standard bunker 0/2/0/6/6
and
True bunker 0/0/6/4/4
True bunkers survive nearly anything anybody throws at you but your damage is maybe 1/4th of zerker elementalists so beyond point holding and trolling there’s nothing you could do. As a Standard bunker you are still able to somewhat whittle down at your opponent but that comes at the price of invincibility as a true bunker.

Pretty much this
