Everytime I see elementalists addressed as “the ele”

Ex:
Can we buff the ele?
The ele is fine l2p
No I think the ele needs buffs.

Why?

Wouldn’t it be easier to say:
Can we buff eles?
Eles are fine l2p
No I think eles need buffs

Quite frankly I can’t think of other professions that address themselves like that. “The warrior is op”, “the necro needs help in pve”… yeah no.

So what gives? I’m curious.

It’s because we’re a force of nature

Because everyone and their kittens play most other classes, but so few can handle the ele that it’s used in single form? =P

It’s a way of showing respect. Like uh, a title or something.

It’s because you only ever see one at a time.

Personally, I refuse to abbreviate the word “elementalist”.

Obviously it’s because nobody plays the ele class anymore so why would the address them as though part of the the ele community?

See, you are making the same mistake as the reporter in Deep Impact.

It isn’t Ele … it’s E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event)

As in if we get one more bad patch the elementalist will be extinct.
