I’m new to the game, lvl 30 ele. I have 5 laurels, is it worth getting the 2 ele random gear (I know its for lvl 80s) or what should I use my laurels for and should I save up for certain stuff?

Better off crafting your own gear or buying through Karma I`d guess.
Save Laurels for something better.

I’d say you’d do better just saving up what you are not sure to spend. Once you’re sure you want to buy something then buy it. Don’t just spend laurels because you have laurels but spend them when you find something you really really want.

Personally, I’m saving up for Ascended gear since that stuff’s much more expensive and you don’t have to hope you randomly get something you want.

You can get good gear through many other means than Laurels (karma, trading post, dungeons …), save your Laurels for Ascended things as the necklace and rings.
