Which one is real and how to not get feared?
Mesmer Illusions – AoE them with whatever skills you have. It’s considerably harder to do with a Scepter, so when you see Mesmers not moving, wait for the real one to reappear out of his stealth,
Fear – use a Stun Breaker ability (the Cantrips). Lightning Flash, in particular, should work wonders against an ability like Fear.

All cantrips break fear? I thought they only broke stuns? Also are you talking about blinding flash?
I know this sounds cliche, but you have to play as one to understand how to combat it
I use to ignore ppl who said that and when I finally stopped having a hard head and played those professions, then it was like an “oh” moment.
And it’s not even about what their abilities do, but moreso understanding their movements and what they are thinking. When they do X ability, then you’ll get an idea of what will come next
Actually easy way for me to kill the fear from a necro is to swap to water attunements with the 10 pt trait cleansing wave? I believe remove condition on water attunement, pop water immediately to break the fear. Cleansing flame cantrip is amazing.
When fighting mesmers THE most important thing in m opinion is to STEP BACK stop and look at the clones and mesmer, you will clearly see the one that is moving like a player. If you just go flying in there attacking and dodging like crazy, you are going to get caught up in the moment and get lost. Stop for a second and look. You will instantly notice the Mesmer.

armor of earth also works >.>// against fear
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
Unless the mesmer is good and is just standing there spamming his basic attack (works wonderfully with staff) until you manage to target them. That’s a nice way to toy with people’s minds.
Clones, however, usually can’t take a lot of punishment and we have a lot of AoE that can deal with them en masse. A good mesmer will, however, shatter their clones when they see you’re about to destroy them, likely stacking confusion on you, so watch out for that, it’s easy to miss in the heat of combat and you then melt yourself.

Before you start the fight with a Mesmer call target on them, this will mean they will have a target above their head so you know which is the real one, however if they stealth or use the sword 2 ability (I believe it is) then it will disappear.
So what I suggest is that you memorize how much health they had, what boons they had and stack some conditions, also if they player is using signets/glory booster/sigil that adds stats/special finisher they will only apply to the original so those are other great ways of spotting the original. Using AoE’s or if you’re using staff Lighting auto attack works great, you can’t really burst a Mesmer down, unless they’re bad so your best bet is to outlast them.
If you don’t feel confident enough to take one down on your own, don’t, you will only give points to the enemy if you die, so either double team one or move on.
Good Luck.

So do all cantrips break fear? Because Im prety sure it didnt work on me, although it could have been that thet applied the fear after? Does stability prevent fear too?
