Guild Wars 2

Hello. Im going to start to play a Elementalist, however i have a bit of a problem to choose a race that fits thematicly. I only care about thematics and lore in pve. It doesnt have to be the most effective race because i do not play wvw or pvp, i just want the profession to fit the race.

I was thinking a Sylvari because i like the race and they feel magical.
Whats your thoughts, which race do you play for your elementalist and why?
Feel free to suggest other professions to different races to.

Races have no effect on playability whatsoever, except for some racial utility skills and an elite. But you will never really use them anyways.

When it comes to lore, there are/were mages and sorcerers in all of the races of tyria. I guess if you really want to stick to it style wise: the charr are like fire warlocks, the norn more like tribal shamans. Sylvari are pretty young in the lore and asura are little masterminds capable of magic and technology. And Humans are all-rounders as always.

I’d look up the cultural armors that are available to the races if i were you. Sometimes they look neat, somethimes they suck.

Other than that just play what comforts your look.

I think asura fit Elementalists well because Zojja is an elementalist, if you’ve read the books she sometimes talks about working on new spells. Asura are a very scholarly race and they influenced magic usage in all Tyria. Plus, I like their cultural armor which is also a factor like shallow mentioned.

Human. Because their racial skill is really good in PvE. And Gods gave human Magic, wowza!

Human by far as the best added ability for the ele class but if you do not mind the elite from ele then asura.
