Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve played and I am planning on leveling in a buddy cop duo with my friend who will be going Ele. As experienced Eles, what profession would you rather have had as a leveling partner? Currently I’ve got a Warrior, Guardian, and Mesmer around 20 [and a baby thief around 5] and would be content going with any of them. What I’m more interested in is leveling efficiency, synergy of abilities (e.g., combo fields, kiting, juggling, even crafting preferences), and things like that. Let me know who you would have wanted as your totally hetero life partner in a leveling bromance, and if you could give a “why” that’d be nice too, thanks!

he uses light fields.. and elemental uses fire.
myself i use staff. (i hate the D/D ultimate and only specc).

I leveled my Ele along side of my wife’s Ranger pretty fun combo for PVE

I’d say the guardian or the warrior if they melee and keep things in place for the ele to unload spells on the mobs. When I was leveling my ele, I always hated having to kite whenever my summon was on cooldown.

Warrior and Guardian would both be good. But I leveled my Ele alongside my husband’s Mesmer, and that worked well. We were both squishy, but we could escape anything. In that respect, Thief would also work.

As far as synergy goes, Thief and Warrior would probably be able to make more use out of the Ele’s combo fields than Mesmer and Guardian (depends on the weapon, though).

I’ve levelled my Elem with a Guardian friend, and it was really easy and quick! I loved it!
He played a lot with his greatsword and I played staff or S/D or S/T and it was really fun.
The combo were always there (it’s easy to have combos with an elem).

Greatsword guardian is great for Staff/Scepter with AoE immob/grip/KD. Ranger and necro built as +condition are great with staff or D/D due to multiple fire fields.

Shortbow Thief + Staff Elem can give pretty incredible blast combo (group healing, might stacks, switness…).

So if your friend is the Elem go for Guardian if you want him to enjoy AoE fest, necro/ranger if you want him to be you buff slave or thief if you want maximum combo buff utilities.

Exactly the same for me (although I am not married)

I’d say Guardian would be an ace partner for Elementalist though.

Necros, ‘cause they share the tastiest meat snacks (just don’t dwell on who that snack was).

Seriously, I think anyone is good.

A player who looks at his/her map once in a while to see where his/her buddy is hanging around ~_~

Synergy with Guardian is good: Guardian has good finishers to your fields and he can profit from burning condition on enemies. He’s also not squishy while Ele is (while leveling) and his area control helps you with delivering your aoe dmg more easily.
