Why is RTL still completely broken?
Always had bother with this, today just reminded me of it.
Clicked it to hit MK, MK vanished & went other side of platform, I went the other direction completely & was stunned.
/sigh

Rocking Wizard Wars until this mess of a game is fixed…
Magnetic grasp is another fun one, some mobs hit boxes are smaller then the mobs physical size. E.G. using magnetic grasp on something like The Mad King at point blank will immobilize him and see you getting stuck in the pull animation for its full duration.
Also Magnetic grasp in clock tower will sometimes hit people who have gone down the ramp and you will flip out for 2 seconds. I think it tests if the opponent is obstructed on cast and doesn’t check when it goes to hit.

I really like rtl. Even though I 90% of the time I just used it for more speed rather than to actually close a gap. And about a third of that time I’d go a random direction and kill a rabbit. But it was too much trouble to try to juggle staff and daggers.
@NatashaK
Turn off the auto target. Problem solved.
In the meantime, just use it smartly. Most good players know that RTL is our main gap closer so don’t use it on someone who you’ve already faced and has proven to be a decent player. You’re only going to end up stunning yourself because the majority of decent players know how to bait RTL. Not to mention they can click on you to see what attunement you’re in while you’re charging in.
If you see someone strafing side to side or front to back, don’t use it. It’s gonna break the path and leave you stuck. Right now, it’s point blank, someone standing still, or chasing someone from behind. I land at least 95% of my RTL’s from the side or behind. IF you’re going to use it charging in on someone, at least try to get it from right at the 1200 range so you spend less time bugged out.
Kind of expect it to be fixed next big class update seeing as right now it predicts the path to travel based on the current direction the target is traveling in. Any break in that movement causes RTL to bug out and stay still. Seems like it’s a tracking issue they have with it. Didn’t play BWE’s or Beta so I can’t tell you how it worked before hand.
I die because of RTL circa 1/3 of the times. In 2/3 I kill or live because of RTL.
So there is still no perfect equilibrium – aNet has to bug/nerf RLT to get as close as possible to the golden 50/50 ratio
RTL and Magnetic Grasp are both the 2 most needed fixes for Ele’s at the moment.
Yesterday I had a target straight in front of me, I hit RTL and I go straight the other way, toward nothing. My Auto target is off and I definitely had the right target, because when I ran back in and did magnetic grasp, I did end up moving to that target..
Horribly annoying really
as for Magnetic Grasp it actually got worse since the last update. Now it does not matter if the enemy is 1m away or 10m away. It always locks you for same amout of time (pvp thief or even some pve veteran mobs can kill U during this lock). The solution is to use MG only at max distance, but I play aura build and use it also to get boons (cuz MG is actually a leap finisher). Until last path MG worked 25% of the time. Now it is always bugged.
MG only works on stationary characters atm.. I don’t even bother using it on a thief or fellow ele since they’re moving and it will put me in CC state for atleast 1-2 seconds, in which a decent <insert class except ele> can finish me off without breaking a sweat..
