Will scepter work well with beeing a Tempest?
I say go for it. Scepter/warhorn or Scepter/Focus was one of the builds I wanted to start out trying. It just depends your expectations. If you’re only interested in what is meta then I guess you’ll need the confirmation of the masses, otherwise I don’t see anything wrong with the combo working in certain situations.
It’d be a viable choice….probably.
The issue is that Scepter is really lacking in terms of damage as it only really has 2 good sources of it and one is really hard to land. Warhorn loses 2 blast finishers so you do lose out on might and the utility gained by wielding one isn’t unique to the weapon and is done better by Focus and OH Dagger. The overload mechanic might be able to work at least in Air as Fresh Air will reset the CD…but Air might not be as powerful in the long run to be worth it.
With the BWE next weekend, it’s best to try out there and see how the e-spec plays. Based on what we saw during the Livestream, Tempest and Warhorn are VERY lacking right now. You can be successful, but there are better builds out there. Hopefully our concerns get addressed before release. But at the moment, sadly there’s no point it.

Looks really bad right now, but I guess that’s why there is a beta test next week. We will be able to test it and give them feedback.
scepter = ranged weapon
warhorn = close range weapon
i’d say no. nothing beats focus for scepter when you play dps.
Sure it works if you know how to play.

I also think it will work. You can build a nice suport healer/auramancer with S/W.
Not when SW has not a single way to apply aura
…
It does the job well :-)
Auras will come from traits and shouts. But maybe d/w will do it better ….
In their current state, shout sucks; cd way to big, no cdr on related trait
…
It does the job well :-)
yes i agree the CD´r reduction should be adde to the aura trait.
Also i would love to see a trait in the minor spec that gives 10% condi damage on vitality.
Tempest has nothing to suport condi damage. Also this must not compete with the aura trait otherwise it will be useless again because it looks like aura´s are the main point to use tempest. Traiting in overloads seems useless unless overloads or traits are pushed.
I first have to try out to bee a tempest. But first I have to turn into a bee.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
let’s just hope that tempests are not allergic to bees, otherwise nerf bees.
