WvW D/D build
If you’re in a zerg, it doesn’t matter what you run.

I don’t even know what to say to kittens like you.
Absolute waste of space.
I use 0/0/10/30/30 as a commander to fight upfront with my zerg / Valkyrie gear with zerker trinkets (still working on my gear) / Healing: Ether Renewal, Utility: Mist Form, Arcane Shield, Armor Of Earth.

Hard to say… I just returned to my d/d ele for wvw to give it a go after a hiatus on her. On paper, it doesn’t look good for a d/d in a zerg. We struggle with either very low hp/toughness to do dmg, or we can be moderately tanky and do very little damage that the zerg may not even notice. What I have noticed in fights like these is that people love to target what’s right in front of them and a d/d ele works great for getting right in someone’s face. I find a good use of the d/d ele in fights like these is to be bait to peel 4+ enemies towards you. Keep on the move to make sure they don’t refocus onto your main zerg so they are effectively wasting time trying to get to you.
For D/D blob fights you mentioned 20v20. My guild does15/15 and 20/20 gvg’s and I’m the designated D/D. I suggest 1600(min) toughness and 800 (min) healing power, then run the oh so unique 0/0/10/30/30
Perhaps if you want to lead pugs or something, d/d can be good, but staff is SO MUCH BETTER. It is more survivable, can dish out more damage in that setting, you can bob and weave in and out of danger (staff fire 4 ftw), and best of all, you can split groups/individual targets with air 5/earth 5 to whittle down opponents (may fav combo is air 5, then drop fire-2 and 5 right in the middle and watch em drop as your team wipes up the rest. I feel I survive WAY better with staff in most settings nowadays, although damage in smaller fights is harder to land.

what he said pick uo earth 3 and use armor of earth utility. Could also go twenty in earth and pick up the stability when you switch to earth trait.
Bad Elementalist
I’ve tested until now tons of different builds i spent alot of time and at the end i found a build which is personally the best for “me” but here we go:
I run full cavalier armor(strenght, preci, toughness) with Dolyak runes on my earrings i go for berserk, same as my amulet. on my rings i got the multistats ones (Lunaria and Solaria rings) on my weapons i got: Strenght, toughness,Vita with Sigils: Bloodlust and Sigil of struggle.
On the whole i have a nice dmg output good crit dmg and a pretty good crit chance… and some nice armor which alows me to deal good damage and also survivability. this makes it the best comfortable build for me i hope i could help you in any point you was looking for
0/0/20/20/30 or 0/0/20/30/20 is good when you have team that can supply you fury and swiftness.
Full boonduration runes. Aim for 2,5k armor, 14-15k hp is enough.
[ ex- Piken Square (EU), ex- Aurora Glade (EU) ]
u can also try 0/0/20/20/30 with 2x runes of melandru, 2x water, 2x traveler, -cond food and earth9 trait (being almost immune to movement impaling helps dd survivie a lot imho)
for armor i use as a base knight, usually trying to have 2,8k armor (if u are commanding even more), with some berserkers and celestial trinkets
you also can try a 0 / 20 / 0 / 20 / 30 build with D / D and knight armor which is also comfortable to play
