Will prob go for air/water/tempest trait.

i was thinking of durability rune sets but dont really wana farm lumps in AB.

any recommandations?

If staff i find hoelbrak a solid option. On main dagger its a bit matter of taste. Durability is one of the best choices. Surging is intresting with rebound as elite. Soldiers(Trooper) with shouts.

I personaly use hoelbrak for staff builds, soldiers(trooper) in PvP and traveler in WvW (but i don´t use air and like the 25% runspeed). Will switch back to nightmare when i get some new viper or wanderer armor.

I use Durability with cleansing water when I roam alone using a mix of Marauder and Crusader Armors. If you have gold, you can get another set and use Trooper runes so you can drop Cleansing Water or the whole trait line itself.
