I’m working on a build for a WvW elementalist (link below):

I’m having some issues with stat allocation/optimization. I’m not sure what most D/D eles run in WvW but right now I’m sitting at 16.5k HP, 2600 armour, and 1950 power. I’ve tried a few different stat combinations but I wasn’t able to move 50 vitality to power (i.e. trading off 500 HP for an additional 50 power) while maintaining 2600 armour. I was hoping some experienced players/theory crafters could help out. Also, if I’m totally barking up the wrong tree in terms of how this build is going, let me know!

Some background info, of no particular importance:
Normally, I run a thief in WvW and I thoroughly enjoy the gameplay. But thieves have pretty poor group utility and I feel like a kitten chilling in stealth bursting people while my team gets focused. I also feel bad when I end up surviving an encounter due to hiding in stealth while my party gets destroyed. Ergo, I wish to be a better team player by buzzing around as an annoying D/D ele.

by swapping around items and food for more stat effective counterparts (not touching the ascended) you can get 10% direct dmg boost with no loss of direct dmg defence. You should always add the 100% fury uptime and 10 (or more) stacks of might (with battle) at the buffs tab, it makes a difference between the items.

Change precision into power -> berserker weapons, all other knight pieces into soldiers with rubys. And plate of tryffel stake.
Slightly slightly more effective version is with soldier weapons and berserker shoulders, gloves, boots. But I wanted example that had the gain in just one variable, dmg. While the latter has u gaining in both.

How ever anet balanced the stats quite well, there is no imba secrets and abusable peaks. You gain somewhere, you usually loose somewhere else.

I am glad to see more theorycrafting going on. I am so bored of my ele. I havent changed traits much but have tried lots of armor and weapons.

U hit one of our major issues. When we go too higher offense we lose so much hp and defense we are so squishy its stupid.

I also have a thief but have been playing it way more in wvw. Its role is much more clear and i succeed and have more fun. I either go glass and blow people up r shadow art semi glass crit and still blow most up or stealth and evade.

On ele it feels i just tag and stun or run from zergs. I do well with standard dd but honestly it isnt that hard. I would like a high reward build or 2 to play with.

This games ele just doesnt capture a mage feel to me like other mmo.

I will be following threads like these and hope Anet see a lot of eles are bored with the norm. If we had more viable ranged options there would be a lot less dd eles
