So, I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and my main class is a warrior(‘ve been playing with it since day 1).
Sometime ago I decided to try the elementalist class in pvp, though I don’t play much with it.
I already have a warrior zerker maxed, and I was hoping if someone could give me an advice on what’s the best or the most viable type of build for elementalist on wvw.

I don’t want a full build, I was just looking a little guidance in what type of build I should use, because I like to make my own builds.

Whatever build you try, you’ll just be trying in wvw. So just play the way you want as long as you have fun with it. But some vitality and a little toughness are not a luxury.

Personally i have suicidal tendencies, I run solo in middle of zergs, i’ve been running with conjures since i learnt the new patch (without the proper build to optimize them, just my usual own with a couple of tweaks) but still, that works fine for me, my craziness often make ennemies run or focus me (sounds like my love life).

First I considered taking a more dps build, but nah, I already have a warrior, so I decided to go more condition/healing/toughness.
I searched for some guides on into the mists and I found one very interesting on what I wanted. It’s from a player Flux.7589 and I liked it a lot so I decided to give it some tweaks to fit me better. What kind of play are you aiming for? Solo roaming? Small group? 15 man? Zerg?

Your D/D build is okay for roaming but way too much condition gear. PTV + Knight’s armor + Cavalier accessories.

My intention is to roam with my brother.
He’ll be using either thief(zerker) or an heavy condi dmg engineer.

I’ve never really seen proper condition elementalist… (that doesn’t mean it’s not possible)
But looking at your build you’re going to be very bunker and only going to be doing your damage with conditions, your base damage is only 981 which seems very low to me.

The other thing with conditions and ele’s as i see it is that we don’t really have any skill to burst conditions, mainly a bit of burning here a bit of chilling there some bleeding etc. There’s no utility skill that spams a couple of them at the same time (like a necromancer has)

Also i think you’d have a hard time facing an enemy that has a couple of condition removals.

I started of with with the standard 0/10/0/30/30, cantrips, full PVT gear, which makes for a great bunker ele and gives you +power off course. This is a great armor set to learn playing as an ele, because of the high survivability.
Then as you get used to character start investing more and more into crits or conditions, and play around with your traits.

I’ve tried a condi elementalist before in pvp and the result wasn’t very good.
My main problem is that going PVT gear I wouldn’t see that dps I feel on a warrior(which is understandable), that’s why I wanted to try a more condi approach to elementalist.
But yeah, elementalist don’t have acess to that condi burst, and few access to diverse conditions.
My objective still is to try to get some condis, but maybe that isn’t such a great idea, what do you think?

Your set up is good. almost same traits I run. 20 in earth is great for group roaming. I would opt for 30 in water for max condition removal when solo roaming. You are going to have a hard time getting a hold of settlers gear as it is only available from karka (which no one runs). I run apothecary with some dire as well as 2 settlers trinkets. The undead runes is what this build used to run but the broken runes of perplexity work much better atm. Your stats are pretty optimal though. Go for the +condi duration food and you will really see this builds damage shine.

I wouldn’t see that dps I feel on a warrior

then I wouldn’t recommend you go for elementalist
pve environment provide good environment for dps as an ele, not pvp

play ele because you enjoy the gameplay not because you want to feel OP facerolling everything cause I assure you that you will not

talife the main reason for me, to play elementalist on wvw it’s because I want to play something different from my main, which happens to be a warior, and I like the elementalist gameplay.
That’s why I already made my build above and I already got good feedback on it, and I’m not expecting to be OP, I’m exepecting to win some battles and lose many others, that’s how you learn, and that’s how you get better, so I’m pretty happy with my condi elementalist build.
