WvW viable or not?
I would change out glyph of elemental power for…something useful like arcane shield or arcane blast for the blast finisher. As for the celestial armor, honestly its not very good and you could be doing more damage or healing if you had a more specific set of gear.
Glyph of elemental power is not set in stone. I could also use cleansing fire or arcane blast in there. Glyph of elemental power can actually be useful in WvW me thinks, when used with an AoE. I prefer arcane blase or cleansing fire though.
And why do you think that celestial armor is not very good? Sure you can get better healing or better damage with specific gear, but why do you think i should go that way?
It’s alright to give comments, but it would be nice if it was constructive advise, instead of just an opinion.
You can’t just get better healing or better damage with standard gear, you can get better healing and better damage with standard gear. Healing power is an all-or-nothing stat and since most of ‘your’ healing is from people blasting your water fields it should really lean towards the nothing end of the scale. As far as everything else goes a PVT/knight’s combo does more damage before and after might stacks, has more hp and has more toughness. Overall a small bit of celestial is usually decent but generally any more than 2 pieces and you’re just spreading stats out too much.

It’s true that a combo of soldier/knight armor and trinkets gives you more power. And that healing power is said to be not as important. But with my build i get 85% crit damage instead of the 28% with soldier/knight combination. The amount of toughness i get isn’t a lot more then with celestial either.
I agree that soldier and knight armor are both good choices, but the reason i was attracted to celestial as well was the burst ability with the high amount of crit damage. Sure it’s not as reliable as raw power, but if crits proc, the damage is quite nice.
your build is fine
Bad Elementalist
Without changing your playstyle try this: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fEEQFAWhEmmboR5wjDAkHn4CLiCWUeMzO2A-jECBoiAYLIkIBJ5rIasFOFRjVVTpWbDTFLQSBcxyI-w . Your build is viable in any case

You didn’t press the “get quick link” button is my guess
But you probably meant this build?

Which is really nice.
I run this, which has a couple of different trinket choices (full celestial), makes use of all the infusion slots, and changes the sigil on the weapon for a bit more damage, in addition to full divinity runes.
I also have a celestial ascended backpiece, but that site doesn’t offer them in the builder.

Not bad at all.
I wanted to go for either divinity or eagle runes at first. However, i think i’ve chosen for travelers instead. It’s not as good as divinity stat wise, but it does add nice stuff, like 25% movement and the extra boon duration from travelers rune makes sure that my extra fury duration lasts 1 second longer (3 instead of 2 seconds after atunement switch). I’m not there yet, gear wise, but i wonder what 93% of crit dmg is going to be like with crits. That’s 243% vs 100% with non crits.
You make me want to get infusions. But i wonder if those +damage and +defense against WvW npc’s is making any difference…
