Anyone out there have a good xpadder layout for elementalist. I adjusted my ranger one slightly and its semi working for now. However, there is a just a couple things that seem to not function ideally.

So I was hoping someone out there has made a good layout that functions perfectly for an elementalist? I did some google searching but nothing really came up.

Are you kidding.. when I played with my ranger I dominated PvE, PvP, and WvW… the movement and combat controls are flawless and 1000 times better then mouse and keyboard.

The problem I am running into with the Ele is there is a fair amount of more skills.. seeing as there is 4 F keys instead of 1.. and theres a lot of AoE.. which I will admit is more difficult to handle because I cant figure out how to properly adjust the mouse targetting with the right joystick.

Other wise is flawless. I was just hoping someone else out there has figured it out.

Why not a naga mouse with buttons on the side?

Some prefer daugther, some mother and few even the granny apparently…

Only way to handle the skills propably would be to set few keys as a modifiers.
Gound targetting will always be a problem for inferior controllers, you should just test it out untill you find something that´s not utterly horrible.

Pardon my scoffing at controllers, but i will never understand the use of such a limited interface when somtehing better is available.

Number 1 reason.. Iv been gaming for years.. I have arthritis in my fingers because of it. 15 minutes of playing with a Keyboard and mouse.. and im in a lot of pain. Controllers give me a good comfort level for a few hours.

Well, if you truly want to do this…

Bind the attunements to Left Trigger + Face Buttons
Face Buttons + Right Stick Press for Weapon Skills
Right Trigger + Face Buttons for Utilities/Healing
Right Bumper for Elite
Left Bumper for Dodge maybe?
Dpad Up for Call Target

This is just my best guess, I don’t have one in front of me.

I use the following:

left hand: razr nostromo with the key rows reverse-mapped (1 2 3 4 5) becomes (5 4 3 2 1) to match index finger position.

right hand: logitech g700. 4 conveniently placed programmable buttons at the thumb, a few more above the index finger.

typical mapping is as follows:
nostromo:
5 4 3 2 1
0 9 8 7 6 (small dodge button)
(grip) (dpad) (weapon swap button under dpad)

g700:
jump on 5
f1 to button 4
f2 to button6
f3 to button 7
f4 to buttons 8 9 and 10 (so you can just mash the general area since it’s a little awkward).

you could obviously change it to be a bit different.

It’s highly convenient, feels as natural as playing most FPS titles on xbox.

forward/reverse motion and rough steering can be done by mouse, strafing combines both hands (think master chief)

tldr: alt + dpad for f1-f4; jump is left button, dodge is left button + left trigger, attack 1 is right button, xyab are 2-5, control + right button is heal, control + 2-5 are 7-10
