Your biggest hope for the patch?
Pretty much what you said. I would also like to see an overall small buff to damage across the board to bring us more in line with other professions. Nothing drastic though because then good elementalists would nuke stuff left and right with impunity and there would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the forums.

A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Bug fixes. Ride the lightning needs to stop stunning me. Grasping earth one I haven’t really noticed in a while except when I try to use it on dolyaks.
Out of weapon combat swap would be lovely.
My hopes:
- Disable auto-target on ride the lightning.
- Fix arcane power to crit 5 times instead of 2
- Fix magnetic grasp
- Enable control options for elementals (like the ranger pets)
- Buff Arcane shield from 3 to 5 blocks.
- Fix evasive arcana to only grant blast finishers to churning earth (earth dodge) and flame blast (fire dodge). Yes I said it, the blast finisher for water is overpowered (2k heal from the dodge 4k from the area healing is to much). Also it seems there isn’t a delay if you chain dodge, meaning you can spike AoE heal for 12k. Or stack 12 stacks of might instantly (Fire ring + dodge + dodge earthquake + churning earth)
- Remove the maximum targets an AoE can hit. If I setup my skill to hit 50 ppl with an AoE they should all get damaged by it.
- Fix any other bugs the elementalist has.
You can disable auto targetting in options. I’m assuming that’s what you meant.
- Fix Grasping Earth / RTL bug (I’m flyiiiiiiig OUCH dead)
- Fix Powerful Auras (does not provide all buffs you gain to your allies, such as combos or might on switch)
- Rework some useless traits such as Windborne Dagger or Zephyr Speed/One with Air (first is useless when you have the second)
- No CD on attunement switch when it’s done out of combat ?
- Some buff for sceptre/focus to make them more useful in PVE
Rest is fine imo
I am really hoping for:
- fixing 20% cooldown reduction on Mist Form
- reducing/eliminating attunment swap cooldown – I play engineer now and it is insane, I can swap to DPS (Rifle), AoE (Grenade kit), Support (Med kit), Utility (Elixir Gun) roles
- improving conjures to be usable

Fix RTL!
RTL made conal. If we`re facing away, we don`t want sending back to our target, we want to escape.
Fix Magnetic Grasp (this works better then it did, but not good enough).
Lower (or just remove CDs on Attunement swapping(why lower damage AND increase CDs in previous builds? /sigh)).
Give Scepter users something better/faster then Dragons Tooth. I`d be amazed if that has ever hit anyone.
Remove player cap on AoEs. (that doesn`t make sense at all..)
Weapon swap.
Improve downed state. Players/mobs just follow the cloud & can down us before 3 is off of CD /next-to-useless.
Edit: Almost forgot.
Fall damage reduction, like every other profession has.

Expectations:
- Nerf to bunker builds.
- Lots of bug fixes.
- Lots of skill changes.
- Minor changes to traits outside of bug fixes.
- Underwater improvements.
Hopes:
- RTL and M.Grasp fixed.
- Spike/ systained damage builds improved.
- Changes to several traitlines.
- Elite improvements.
- Balance check on glyphs.
Wishful thinking:
- Conjure weapons fixed.

- Improvements to the mass of traits nobody in their right mind takes
- Improvements to our elites so it doesn’t feel like a useless slot
we need at least 1 more trait for conjured weapons. I know other things need to be done first, but only one trait is ridiculous.
Of other things:
-minor dmg buff
-fix bugs in arcane powers
-increase # of targets in AOE: I find this stupid. AOE should affect ALL targets in an area, regardless. (At least make ground targeting and raining skills have it)

Bug fixes. I don’t care about balance fixes at this point. There are so many bugs on the Elementalist that it’s driving me nuts.
Fix the bugs, and I’ll be happy. I would be OP if I do any more damage =/
Guardian
- RTL/ Grasping Earth fix
- Blasting Staff target area fixed in PvE (though I have learned to auto-correct)
- Dragon’s Tooth speedup
- Other bug fixes
- Reduction in attunement swap CD
- Better Elites
- Fix ele speed buffs (Zephyr’s Speed/One With Air/Signet of Air) so that they stack properly. Or at least tell us how they’re supposed to stack. Really, race a thief and see who wins!
- Better lady sylvari chest armor choices that don’t make my ele look like a man or like a middle-school girl trying to get attention. While I’m at it, I also want female Asura and Charr armor. (Yeah, I know. Not happening)
- More HP so I can stack more Precision/Healing Power, less Toughness/Vitality
- Improve downed mist form so that I can actually get far enough away from the battle to possibly heal
- Increase AoE target limit to 8 or 10, or even remove it.
- More bug fixes
- First person camera and even more zoomed out camera

Well since we’re just supposed to list one I’ll go with the big one already listed:
I’d like a reduced reliance on the Arcane line too. It really limits the points available when many of our abilities proc off attunement swapping.

If you invest on fire/ air over the other traitlines, you’ll get slightly more damage for far, far less defense.
Our best builds don’t need more damage, but our glass cannon builds sure do.

Not really sure if you missread but I said I thought our damage is fine and don’t need to change.
I hope that they have put in in/out of combat weapon swapping, i don’t want to run away from a mob just to swap weapons.

I’d like to see a buff to tornado elite. Its debateable but the only way I could see using it personally is if there was some kind of protection buff to go with it. Loosing all my active defenses is too costly to make it worth risking. Otherwise it would be a lot of fun.

Am I the only one that doesn’t open my bags? I just hit “H” and the weapons I need are in the upper left corner. A quick double click and I’m swapping between D/D and Staff in an instant.
As far as what I hope for the patch, most of what has already been stated. Some fixes for skills, RTL especially (either give us an ability to cancel it/explode early, add evasion to it, etc…), and that’s about it.
Slightly more damage. I would be more ok with Eles being squishy as hell if they at least hurt like hellfire.
Though lowering the base cooldown on attunement swaps would be awesome too. I hate playing with less than 30 Arcana.

Air attunement swap not putting you in combat / aggroing mobs

Not really Ele related, but definitely topping my list. If they aren’t going to fix it, they need to stop forcing everyone to play it.
Variety of viable builds, responsiveness of skills, synergy, absence of bugs, proper balance, world domination.
I would like RTL to behave like burning speed. No auto target by default. No auto tracking if I do have a target.
Also there are 2 ways I would like for the explosion part to change.
1. An option to detonate and end RTL (similar to guardian staff 2) for a shorter cd based on how much longer it would have gone if not detonated.
or
2 Give RTL charges and make the traveled distance shorted (as short as burning speed). Make the explosion damage weapon based on total number of charges. So if RTL is 5 burning speeds long you get 5charges and RTL doing 1/5 its original explosion damage. Finally, RTL only cd’s when charges reach 0.
Make Staff-DD viable, like:
- Buff dmg on Chain Lightning
- Slightly buff dmg on Ice Spike and Eruption
Maybe also give Staff more Combo-finishers….
Also, there are quite a few UP Skills that aren’t used at all and could use a buff, like:
- Glyph of Elemental Power
- Glyph of Renewal
- Glyph of Storms
- Signet of Air
– Signet of Water
Improve viability of alternative builds by buffing trait lines without nerfing the main effective builds we have today.
Weapon switch.
RTL fix.
1. Fix bugs and broken skills
^ If only this one happens, I’ll be happy.
2. Boost to damage or attack speeds (perferable the latter)
3. Shorten Attunment CD
4. Make conjured weapons better. (Remove uses?)
5. Tornado made better.
EDIT: And maybe sometimes soon paid character appearance re-customization (PLZ Anet! I’ll give you the moneys!)

That game was so much fun, though it was really short.
What I’d really love for them to do is give RTL a super speed buff. So you it speeds up your character but you still have control of it. You now have control over where it goes. It would take a while to get used to, but it would be incredible.
But…I’d be happy if the “stun” bugs were fixed regardless.

PvP doesn’t influence PvE (split where there is a sizeable change)
Evasive arcana remains untouched!!! (at least in PvE)
Buffs to useless traits
Expectations
As a result of PvP balancing, skills will be nerfed without a split for PvE
Nerf to Arcana traits/nerf to attunement cooldown. Elemental attunement will now only have a 10% chance to give a boon upon switch.
Nerf to fire traits, specifically flame barrier
Nerf to earth traits
Nerf to staff skills
Nerf to flame wall, which will have its cooldown increased and damage reduced.
I’m totally a pessimist.

People still expect weapon switch in combat for an elementalist? You know, you’re going to disappoint yourself for the entire existence of the game.
I think most people are asking for an out of combat weapon swap just to make it less annoying. It’s not a priority by any means, but it would be nice.
