I’ve never been a fan of reaching for the F# keys…I’ve basically been running full signets on my d/d ele just so I wouldn’t have reach for more keys. But now that I really want to improve my game by using cantrips I need to figure out key bindings that are comfortable.

So I’m curious, for anyone who uses ZXCV for their attunements, what do you use for your heal and utility abilities? If you don’t use the F# keys obviously.

Yeah that doesn’t help me at all considering I only want suggestions from people who use ZXCV for attunements and I don’t care about what mouse people use.

Change strafe to A and D, use your mouse for turning.
Then bind utilities to Q E and R, to auto run just hold both mouse buttons or rebind somewhere else

I’d also suggest using Control and 1-4 for attunements. Better control than having to go below your movement keys. Faster reactions. Better rotations. Better play.

I also keep most of the twitch skills very close to my left hand. Shift-1/2/3/4 for attunements and R, Shift D/E/R for heals/utility skills.

For my hand/keyboard combination, shift works naturally where my left pinky falls where control doesn’t fit well. My advice is to find what works for you and push through the frustration that comes with changing keybindings – over the long haul once you find something that works, it’ll change what you’re capable of in-game.

I use F1,F2,F3,F5(elite). I suggest Shift/Alt+1,2,3,4 if you don’t want F#. I put heal on E

This is only because I can just reach them and I have all the other buttons filled. It’s almost impossible for me to use Shift,Alt,Ctrl+letters though.

This… but alt 1-4 is a better choice for attunement swapping because it is easier to do in the heat of things without contorting your hand so much (on a keyboard)

Q/E/R/F/C – The util slots, heal, and elite

I use middle mouse button to toggle autorun. Mouse 4 to assist with and Mouse 5 to dodge roll.

I use zxcv for attunements also.
2,3,4,5,6 for heal, utility slots and elite

s = strafe left
d = forward
f = strafe right
h = move backwards

a = nearest target
g = dodge

mouse 5 = skill 1
mouse 4 = skill 2
w = skill 3
e = skill 4
r = skill 5

t = assist

thought I am thinking about changing:
mouse 5 = skill 1
e = skill 2
r = skill 3
shift + e = skill 4
shift + r = skill 5

Weapon 1 – 5 = keys 1-5
Movement = WASD
Utilities = ERT
Elite = G
Attunement swap = ZXCV

I don’t have a fancy mouse but it does have two side buttons. I have the one my thumb rests on bound to dodge.

That’s what I do.

I use ZXCV for attunements, and T for my heal

I don’t like the combo keys for attunements. You can easily mistime it and accidentally use a skill instead of switch. It’s just not as fast and smooth as single key switches.

As others have said, bind A and D to strafe and use mouse for turning…no need to waste useful Q and E keys for movement.

Rebind auto-run to T or something and use R for utility.

Shift by itself can also be used for utility. Capslock and tab as well…though with caps, it is somewhat annoying when chatting cause half the time you’re typing with caps on.

I’ve been running with the following and i find it helps to easily do combos with d/d.

1-5 weapon skills
zxc utilities
alt elite
mouse3 is heal
q=water
e=fire
r=earth
t=air

autorun is delete right out of the way. Cant believe its default is r.

Get a Naga…all of you…

I use 1234 for attunments instead of ZXCV.I found myself in a similar situation as the op so I ended up using

alt + Q,E,R for my utility skills
5 for my healing skill
alt +F for my elite skills

Shift or control also works if you’re not comfortable with hitting the alt key.
A mechanical keyboard is a better investment than a naga…

Can’t circle strafe while targetting ground AOE like that.

Personally, I go 1-4 for attunements, ARTWQ (in that order) for weapon skills, ESDF for move, XV for strafe left/right, C for heal, and shift + RTWQ for utilities and elite.

That way my fingers never need to move far in order to be able to reach everything. Weapon swap & targetting is on mouse buttons.
