advice about dueling with guard,mes,necro?
Guardian: You should be able to outlast him if you’re running a healerbunker build. That like 5min battle or something like that. Don’t count on it in real matches, takes way too much time.
Necro: Hard to nuke in the general case, you most likely would like to outlast him also. Just make sure you got no poison on you when you heal up.
Mesmer: A friend of mine plays mesmer and we’ve been dueling countless times, at first, I could not beat him at all, later, I was able to take ~50% of the victories, now, there’s NO way I can beat him with any build. Depends on the Mesmer, but it’s really hard to play vs them.
thanks 4 the advice ,so sad look like ele have a little change to win on fighting mesmer
(expect noob)
A well played phantasm mesmer is extremely hard to beat an especially hard for a melee class like dd ele.
Keep practicing duels and you will recognize the attacks + attack patterns of each class.

Phantasm Mesmer no chance if they know what they are doing. I just can’t see how you can possibly beat a Phantasm Mesmer as a D/D ele in a duel I just started playing D/D ele but I have had a mesmer for a long time. I have never had a problem with D/D ele’s on my mesmer.
Shatter is different and I feel definitely doable.

Scepter/dagger is the way to go, if you’re burst specced, you’ll be able to take out all of them.

how about warriors?

Guardian and necro? Nothing special. Mesmer? Have fun spending more time trying to avoid damage than dealing it.
I run Berserker’s scepter/dagger in sPvP and Knight’s/Berserker’s in WvW, and let me tell ya:
Against a shatter mesmer, it’s a battle of attrition if you dodge their important stuff and they dodge yours. One which you’ll probably lose, seeing as your burst is far easier to avoid and you have low sustainability due to a lack of Healing Power, Armor, and Health.
Against a phantasm mesmer, just try to use line-of-sight to your advantage or something, because you really have absolutely no chance otherwise. They deal too much damage too reliably, and they take too little in return.

Guardian is my main, so I’ll weigh in here: your ability to duel with a guardian depend greatly on their build and yours.
The most popular guardian build out there currently is an altruistic healing build that relies on a constant stream of small heals, which they receive every time they apply a boon (which happens generally 2-3 times a second). The most popular variant of this tends to use shouts (which provide a lot of boons very quickly), along with a trait that turns a condition into a boon whenever a shout is used. These shouts, however, have a fairly high cooldown, so to back them up it’s fairly common to take their signet heal, which removes a condition every 10 seconds, and a trait that does the same thing.
These guardians rely so much on their heals, and they have so many of them, that you’re going to have trouble killing them 1v1. Your best bet is something like a Sigil of Doom on one of your weapons, which will apply poison for 5s every 9s (after attunement swap). This neuters their constant healing ability, and allows burning and bleeds to chew through their relatively low healthbar. However, since your opponent will most likely have a large number of condition removals going off constantly, you’ll also need to apply other conditions constantly to give poison a chance to do its work without being removed.
A general weakness of guardian builds is their inability to catch kiters, especially if a movement-impairing condition is applied consistently. While there are a couple of highly mobile builds out there (my own included), the popular altruistic healing build has trouble catching up to and sticking on anyone with high mobility. Cripple and chill are the bane of this build; with constant application of them the guardian will be nearly completely unable to catch up to you to use his most powerful melee skills. Guardian ranged weapons are so abysmally bad that you won’t have any trouble with them; the staff is low-damage except for an easily-avoided, slow-moving gigantic orb, while the scepter’s projectile speed is so low that you can wiggle-step at about 600 range and make every autoattack projectile miss. Do keep a condition removal at the ready when fighting scepter guardians, though, as they have a 4-second immobilize on a fairly low cooldown.
@ things about shatter mesmers you might not know. 1 the more clones on the field the less each one hurts but the more they hurt collectively Avoiding 2 eating one isn’t necessarily a bad idea. 2 shatter mesmers for the most part in most builds are very susceptible to conditions. 3 shatters are relatively easy to avoid. 4 really watch those mind wrack shatters use those 10 seconds between to your advantage. 5 good mesmer will beat nearly any class 1 v 1 play smart and you might win. 6 just keep your eye on the real one focusing him is the key to victory. Last but not least S/D might have an easier time with a mesmer.

If you have a burst build with s/d wep set necros are easy, shatter mesmers too if you know how to avoid their shatter burst and most importantly their leap skill. A skillful guardian with great armor and damage can give you a challenge but if you outplay him/her with avoiding getting trapped, pulled and interrupted you will win.
i was dueling again that guy yesterday . i can kite him to death when he using the guardian ,but no way to find a change with the necro and mes .he just running around ,summon the minions/clone ,make the 1v1 fight become 1v alot look like necro minions and shatter mes doesn’t need skills to play
15/15/15/15/10 with sigils that proc damage near you, equip D/D and cleric jewel with rune of rage on y’r armor. That’s how I beat virtually everything I meet. Because of the high number of attacks you use you’ll render the guardians blinds useless. Plus the shatter mesmers clones would get pummeled by all your PBaoE’s but some dodging would help.
Also two very usefull conditions in all three of those match ups would be Chill and poison. Both are very serious debuffs, cover them with some more burns and bleeds preventing them from being able to remove all of the conditions. They’ll panic when they see conditions and damage piling up while all their skills are on cooldown and healing is effectivly halved in usefulness.
Keep the pressure up at all times!
Necro is just trying to focus him down constantly while weaving around him and swapping atunements whenever deemed necessary.
