after some help with my staff build
that’s your build – using the far superior (for anything but pvp) gw2buildcraft.
Suggestion one would be getting yourself an amulet (assume you’ve got one, but it’s not listed in the post)
Suggestion two is replace the major runes with superior ones.
Now, personally, if I’ve got a staff, I’m running this:
Mine focuses far more on outright damage, with decent critical. I’ve ignored condition damage other than the incidental bit from the Divinity runes.
Not sure if that’s any help (simply telling you what I run isn’t a huge boon) but at least you’ve got a working URL now.

thanks, ill have a try with the build – ive switched my trinkets to berserker with ruby, and soldier backguard, but the soldier armour and superior runes are out well of my reach for now, something ill need to work towards.

you can skip on the divinity runes. Honestly if you play well you can run full berserkers in most dungeons. Use ruby orbs instead of divinity runes.
I personally run 20 in air (glyphs recharge faster, glyphs give boons) and 30 in water (cantrips grant regen+vigor, cantrips recharge 20% faster, regen removes a condition). I find this setup to be ideal.

Soldier armor can be bought with karma in Orr (everything but the pants). Also to the OP, I’m curious is there a reason you didn’t take the Arcana VII trait “Blasting Staff”? That’s a must have for me when I run with staff.

thats why i was after help with how i could better my build, i couldnt make my mind up over blasting staff or final shielding, so went for the defensive option in the end – just to try and not be so squishy
Once read about someone not bringing Blasting Staff because they preferred a smaller Static Field. Actually sounded like a valid argument not to bring Blasting Staff all the time. Though personally, I still prefer the larger AoEs.
