Stone heart won’t help you if you’re moa’ed, which is something I heard a top pvp streamer say the other day. Most eles are running fire over earth from what I’ve seen.

Camping Earth will also make you deal next to no damage.
This trait is meant to be used strategically—swap to Earth when you expect an incoming burst, swap back out to reataliate.
Was not talking specifically about spvp, but be underused is another good reason to buff earth.

Eles already go to earth to mitigate dmg because of elemental attunement protection. Stone heart is just gimmicky, forcing you to wait on earth while elemental attunement let’s you keep your rotation. The trait right now feels really underpowered compared with other grandmaster traits in other traitlines.
I have no problem with being 100% time attuned to one element.
If everything will be based on swapping elements its will be forcing me too much.
Our mechanic is while attuned to element we get specific weapons skills.
Swapping is rather secondary part of our mechanic.
It is all imo, so I will say that I would like to see secondary effect in that trait, that will work in all attuments except earth.
Stoneheart is pretty much perfect as it is. If you camp earth you’re not doing any damage meaning other players can simply ignore you.
Thus far everyone I see complain about it mains a thief, a ranger, or occasionally a mesmer – yes this counters those classes, but they need to get over it. People seem to think we’re getting easy mode defense. Let’s be very very clear that it is not as powerful as people think. Ele’s still have the weakest passive defense of any class, and we absolutely cannot camp earth attunement. Camping earth attunement will get you killed fast. Frankly, if you reduced it and made it last the same length as your attunement recharge, most ele’s wouldn’t notice the difference, but good players will suffer hard and Ele will fall out of the meta. We absolutely need it, because Ele dmg in Cele gear is – if anything – worse. Meanwhile every other class has had something of a damage buff no matter what. If you changed it, all it would do is punish people for starting combat in earth attunement, which is the best option by far usually. Thief’s would just stealth through the duration – better players would swap out of earth then and there to start the recharge, but they’d just be reopened on immediately. I don’t think you’ve fully thought through all of the ways this ability interacts with other classes and how much use the trait would totally lose if it were changed that way – not because camping it is good, but because other people can’t be able to bully us out of earth.

I would add though that I’ve always thought that for consistency with the condi resistance boon, Stone Heart and Diamond Skin should actually apply real boons that can be stolen and corrupted. When above 90% HP and traited for Diamond Skin you should get a pulse of Resistance every 2 seconds, and a new boon for Crit resistance should be added that also pulses but when in Earth attunement. This would allow counterplay, but not from simply waiting it out, and it would further encourage swapping out of Earth because doing it at the right time could allow you up to 2 seconds of crit invuln while in another attunement.

I am running stone heart and its the reason is love my ele and did stick to her. But thats because i like playing surprise specs and to play for the team als “Decoy”.
But: I can´t bring annything down beside glass cannons if i stay earth. I totally loose against necros, i have troubles against annything with good life and condi cleanse.
But yes, zerker builds are endangered and the most anoying thing for them ist that they are used to blast targests fast but can´t do it with her ele prey if in earth with stone heart. I also fought a mesmer camping earth. It was endless till the assist train rolled over me.
So to say. I am forced to swap out of earth if i want to finish my target. Shure its some kind of evil enduring tactic wating for the right moment to go into air for the assault :-). Its diffrent, its more reactive and a bit more forgiving, but you have to learn how to use it, otherwise you will always miss the chance to kill someone. (Which is often for me … still learning )
People defending this trait are just looking at their class. I had my grandma try gw2 for the first time, she obviously rolled a stone heart ele. Running around with a lightning hammer and wrecking face. Clearly this trait is overtuned. Camping earth is too strong. At one point the computer actually exploded from too much earth getting into the circuit board.

Please nerf this, every other game I’m now encountering earth camping eles. This is worse than turret spam since the ele’s are gross and they get mud on my computer.
