ele in ranked pvp
Hey,
I don’t know what you’re trying to prove here. Staff isn’t as viable and certainly not as forgiving as D/D. Still, playing D/D requires some skill. It’s pretty easy to kill an ele playing D/D who doesn’t know his/her rotation or how to encounter to different situations.
Therefore the person your team was facing probably wasn’t that bad, he knew what he was doing or you didn’t know how to encounter him.
Greetings
That’s because people expect you to play meta builds in ranked, which is understandable.
wat. I’m well aware of meta.
this post is nothing to do with that.
Just referencing how people rip on eles no matter what we do lol.
He blamed the ele on the enemy team for playing d-d while simultaneously blaming me for NOT playing it. They want us to play d-d or not? lol kitten ed if we do kitten ed if we don’t

I was referring to the part that he was complaining you weren’t running one. And I’m telling you that no matter what people think of some builds they’re still happier to see them on their teams, since it’s best to play. How is that not relevant?

I wrote that before I saw your post. Don’t assume I’m talking to you because of post order. I didn’t reference your name at all. Was talking to the guy who thought I was complaining about any sort of balance.
This was just a huh that’s pretty funny. This is the ele forum, not a balance forum. Can have other posts about eles -_-

That’s what I had to assume since you didn’t use the reply.
Anyways, I’m not saying you can’t. All I’m saying is the fact it’s natural people act like this. Not saying I agree with it.
There are always some people around who aren’t open for different play styles. I think that’s one of the things you have to cope with when playing in pugs.
Just laugh it away.

I did in fact find it funny.
This is why I’ll probably switch to Mesmer main after maining Ele since release. As fun as ele is – and it’s the most fun class – having only the realistic option to play the exact same DD build for ~3 years, it does get boring. And Tempest doesn’t look like it’ll open much new builds either.
But Mesmers have such a PLETHORA of viable builds compared to us, and so many different playstyles even within the class (full stealth mesmers, no stealth mesmer, bunker, condi, power burst, support, cele, lockdown, so many great utility choices, 3 great elites, a lot of awesome heal choices.
Compared to eles, which basically have 3 cantrips (mistform got unviable after all the nerfs), healing signet and an elite to help them escape every 3 minutes. And double daggers or maybe offhand focus, but that’s about it. MAYBE staff but you’ll lose so many 1v1s you’ll go back to daggers again.
