Actually, in the very beginning, Grasping Earth was our #2 skill. However, the immobilize wasn’t and isn’t strong enough to actually delay the inevitable. Hence, Anet listened to the community and switched it to 3, giving us Vapor form on 2.

no a lot of the time it is really useful to down the other person and if u have a mate to kill him first then u get rally it is just that closeeeeeee! :P but i find that i have no chance of using it before it is up available to cast because of the initial cd time is too long perhaps.
1 second less is a huge difference for me in a lot of cases :P

That one second applies to all classes; everyone can be stomped before their 3 is actually available to use unless there’s third party intervention

There’s a basic rule to elementalists. Its pretty simple: don’t. die. Its not that hard not to die unless seriously outnumbered or fighting a heavy DPS + a condi class (yes that combo is killing >.<).

If you die as an ele, and you cannot mistform into a tower or so, the best thing to do is mist form of a cliff and kill yourself.
