hi all
Does the amount of heals due to a blast of a waterfield depends on de person who put a waterfield or the person who blast it?

so: when a heal specced ele put a waterfield and a dps specced thief blast it get more heals when a NON heal specced ele put a waterfield and a heal specced thief blast it

grtz

and another question: what happens when i have aquatic benevolence traited? when a thief (or other char) blasts it, does he have 25% more healing from it?

The heals given by blasting a water field scale with the healing power of the player source of the blast. This is why a single ele’s healing power is largely irrelevant when placing a water field in, say, WvW for a zerg to blast.

As such, Aquatic Benevolence will also not benefit the blasts of other players. The trait will only increase the healing you dish out to other players directly through your water fields and your own blasts.

aha ok, so when i run in a small raid (5 ppl tot 10 ppl): i better go for dps then healing power/aquatic benevolence unless i blast the fields myself (arcane brilliance, arcane wave and eruption)
however, geyser heal a lot and the autoregen too…
is 1200 healing too much or good? (i link my build here: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fFAQFAWnMISnDW5AuMArEIwCwIHDmBjwRZARBgiLhdAA-TVyDABM8AAKS53pKBvR9Am2fAgLAgNq4kr5vT0BQKAdVGB-w )

Well, the basic thing is that GW2 were never meant to have a “healer” class in it, therefore if you go with a DPS build, you will benefit the group much more (might stacking etc…) without loosing the water fields to blast. If the group is coordinated, the healing amount lost by not speccing into it is negligible.

You are looking at it wrong there is no healing class there are clearly healing builds for example triple mantra with heal on mantra mesmers can keep parties alive for days. Venom Thiefs can give a party 5 seconds of immortal face rolling. a bomb heal engi heals for small amounts but can have very very constant heals going off. Guards can mace heal while being practically afk. You can be very very effective at healing in this game on almost ANY class. and thats what they meant there is no heal CLASS there are instead heal BUILDS.

That’s not my point of view though, yeah, I shouldn’t have used the word “class”, my bad. I should have used the word “role”.
GW2 was not intended to have a “healer” role, that belongs to the trinity games, and that was stated by the developers. I don’t know why there’s traits like that (maybe devs count that into support role, which is probable), however a role like this is not needed, at least in PvE scenario, because the heal it provides over any other build (talking about Elementalist, not other classes) is negligible, because of the blast heal link to the character who blasts, not to the character who created the field.
Therefore building around healing ability will achieve only one thing, making a group of 4 ppl instead of 5, let’s say in the dungeon scenario.
However I guess that in the PvP scenario, a build like this maybe could have some uses, but I doubt that any succesful team uses it. Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not playin’ PvP much.

nah in pvp if you take damage your dead no chances to wait 12 milliseconds for a heal.

you should look up the scaling on Healing Power. It’s pitiful. I believe 1 point is 0.12% regeneration

IMO 500 Healing power is ALOT of healing power, and anything more than that you’re probably better off going into something else
