how about some scepter and staff love
You don’t have to land two ccs to hit dragons tooth? You do know that dragons tooth will hit after updraft if you actually swap quickly enough to fire right? They cannot even dodge roll it, they have to use a stun breaker, I tested this in an empty lobby with a friend a while ago.
I do agree about Staff needing some love because it is out of whack with D/D. Can’t really see the need for much more love with S/D as it is already extremely powerful. It has the most blast finishers of any of our weapon sets and you can stack up an ungodly amount of Might in very little time. Staff on the other hand… Yesh.. It is HORRIBLE!
Sure, it does have a lot of AoE, but it has just one blast finisher on its own and that is only if you stack everything on top of eruption. Also, as I have been saying for ages now, Air in Staff is just jacked up terrible and has no synergy in terms of dps.

They are going to use a stun breaker good players will ALWAYS use a stun breaker when you use updraft on them. You’d be nuts not to.
Scepter WATER is HIGH LEVEL TRASH. The others, fire, air and earth need only some minor buffs. (Faster DT, more bursty air, E2 doing something more usefull than a little armor buff etc..)
Give scepter an aura skill. I’d be very happy
It’s not actually the scepter that’s the problem. It’s the Focus Skills. If they were better, we would see more Scepter/focus Elementalists, I’m sure.

Scepter Earth 2, imo.
I’m alternating between S/D and D/D and like them both. I also keep a Staff on me for some encounters, like keep sieges in WvW or some boss encounters in dungeons. The only weapon I almost never use is the focus and my main reason for not using it is the total lack of healing, it’s the ONLY Elementalist weapon that doesn’t offer healing, either main or offhand, which is very odd. Focus has damage-dealing Water skills (!! damage in water) that deal very low damage, as if they should have healing added in there but someone forgot to do it.
S/D and D/D aren’t totally different, they both use the same offhand, I rarely change my trait points when switching between, just change some major traits here and there.
I think out of all our weapons the one that needs changes badly is the focus, Scepter and Staff could use some help but not so much as poor little Focus
