leveling guide updated most recent patch?
Ditto! Please
I’m just starting to level my Ele for PVE and WvW and would love some guidance…seems there is a lot of changes recently but much of the guides available on the forums appear to be out of date and there are a ton of conflicting opinions to wade through.
really 93 views and nothing.
I don’t think the basics have changed:
Up until level 40-60 the attribute bonuses you get from your trait points are usually more important than the traits themselves, so put points into the trait lines that give you Power and Precision. If given the choice choose equipment with Power and/or Precision over everything else.
Get Signet of Air; 25% faster movement speed is great for leveling, and it’s a stun breaker.
Dagger/Dagger or Scepter/Dagger is basically a matter of preferences, play with the weaponset you get along better. Staff is also possible but tedious and less forgiving.
At level 40+ you can try conjures: Put 20 in Fire for more charges and 10 in Arcane Power for Vigor. To always have access to a conjure you may want to take two conjures.
Hey guys.
I’m leveling my third Ele (really – I just love the class) and I would recommend a few things:
Until you yet level 40 or 45 the thing you need most is damage. Power + Precision should be your main gear focus at first.
Once you start facing tougher enemies (likes ones that stack conditions on you) then you can switch to a more defensive approach. Toughness + Vitality give you more room to breathe.
Select your skills tactically based on the situations you expect to face. For example, Mist Form is a great Oh Kitten Button. Arcane Wave rarely leaves my bar (having a Blast Finisher on demand is amazing especially with a Staff and it’s combo fields).
If you are still having trouble surviving then stick to lower level zones. You still earn roughly the same XP but the risk is a lot lower, though the drops aren’t as good either.
Last bit of general advice: dodge early and often. Pick up the 10 point trait in Arcane that grants Vigor on crit so you always have the endurance to keep dodging.
Cheers!
Nothing wrong with d/d.
Personally i’d spend my talent points towards the popular 0/10/0/30/30, starting with air I , then either water with cantrip utilities (defensive) or arcana with arane utilities (offensive) depending on how squishy you feel.
