looking to learn a d/d build and rotation
oh forgot to add I don’t pvp this is strictly for pve dungeons
For Trait it is typical 0/10/0/30/30 Bunker Build. The basic rotation is start with Air : RtL, Updraft to knock Mobs down, switch to Fire while mid Updraft then Burning Foot and Burning Grasp for burst, laying down RoF, then Switch to Earth, Dodge Roll in Earth to RoF for Might Stack, then Earthquake and CE to finish, all in RoF if possible. At this point, for normal Mobs it should be down, and you should end up somewhere bw 12 Might Stack. Switch to Water if u are in trouble. The basic is like that, my advice is to practice it until you can do it without thinking, like a Memory Muscle. By the time you master it, you will most likely know you don’t have to execute them all at once but rather when the opportunity arise. But for now, practice with all that first. Good luck.

fire:
3-4-5
or
3-4-2-5
Auto attack does decent damage so you could just use that in pve.
Earth
4-5 <- when fire field is still active. -2
When 4 and/or 5 are on cd and you got a fire field use 3-3
Auto attack is crappy but you can hit people that are behind a structure and such.
Water:
12345 or something. 1 give vulnerability, 2 heals, 3 chills, 4=aura and 5 is aoe heal/cond removal.
Air:
4-5 <- good for initial attack.
3 aura keep it up as much as possible.
2 gives weakness but is hard to land.
1 auto-attack is pretty powerful.
Those are the basics and you should have cantrips in your utility bar, use those when you need ‘m. For example when you’re using churning earth and the mob moves out of range you can use lightning flash to close the gap even when you’re still casting churning earth.
For D/D Ele in dungeons, I suggest my guide:
What I find fun and loving about GW2 is that, there isn’t really a “rotation” as per say. It all boils down to the moment, where do you stand, what kind of enemy are you facing(melee, ranged, heavy-hitter etc.). When I realized that bit, I never even thought about rotation ever again… As an old WoW player, that was a wall to overcome myself!
Now, with that said, you’ll soon be able to see that for yourself :P I personally think anything remotely close to a rotation kills all meaning of the word “dynamic”, which in itself is the soul of GW2!
On topic: Change attunement constantly, only using the spells most needed then change again, use the spells depending on your position, either to get closer or to get away, only to jump back in again.
That’s what I love about Eles, together with the constant change of flow in a dynamic battle, we can skitter across the battlefield and unleash devastation upon our enemies.
As soon as you stand still, Ele is no fun in my eyes :P So, in my opinion, forget the word “rotation” and focus on adapting!
PS: I play D&D, and my post is from that perspective, I promise you – When you play like you’re in combat yourself(lol fun) rather than a repetetive rotation, you wouldn’t be able to lean back on a rotation again

you could also run with a 15/15/15/15/10 build :p just for fun. Then get some sigils that proc when you weaponswap like chilling nearby enemies get some runes of divinity. Its fun since you proc soooo many pbaoe’s maybe not as many as with evasiva arcana but still…
