Perma-swiftness. Air 10 point trait zephyr’s boon, auras give fury and swiftness. 2 auras with D/D + updraft. Boon duration from arcane trait bonus and runes.

Yes totally true for GTFO maneuvers but not so good for keep to keep travel.
Fiery great sword all by itself is a pretty decent map mover though.

Seriously though, in WvW if you get out alive of such odds, you are extremely good AND the 6 against you are VERY bad. This is not a problem with the class.

Seriously though, in WvW if you get out alive of such odds, you are extremely good AND the 6 against you are VERY bad. This is not a problem with the class.
Do as I posted and you will get away 90% of the time. if you use signet of air for your underwater set you will get away from even good gps.

Because some casual players cannot play hours and hours to farm gold for repairs?

Farming to afford repair bills, for real? Can’t tell if that was sarcastic or not. If not then I would argue that those players will never have the time to master a D/D Ele either and are better off playing Staff or you know a Ranger.

As stated above, there are plenty of ways to get permanent swiftness. Personally, my current way is using +boon duration runes in combination with Glyph of Elemental Harmony (in Air), and then either the staff or the dagger’s swiftness skill. Of course, i also get it from swapping attunements and if really needed, I can also combo the staff’s eruption with static field for a partywide speed boost.
But that’s just one of the many possiblities, and you probably already get the tools to do so without specifically speccing for it.

I don’t give anyone an easy kill on me ever. I will fight those 6 if I stand a reasonable chance of winning though. Last night I killed that many plus a couple with the help of guards by jumping in and out of a keep door. /shrug

Just as easy to get away from 50 as it is 6 using RTL and your cool downs.

Ways eles can get swiftness:
Without traits
Staff air 4
Blast finisher in staff air 5
oh dagger air 5
Glyph of elemental harmony in air
Air elemental randomly
With zephyrs boon,
all of the auras
leap in ice or fire field
blast in ice field
any rune/sigil/trait that triggers auras
With inscription, all the glyphs cast in air
With elemental attunement, simply attuning to air.
Combining any of those should give any setup some kind of a access to perma/near-perma swiftness.
Oh, and the burning retreat/speed, rtl, magnetic grasp when in battle and updraft.
If all else fails, the air signet and one with air trait give pathetic 25%increase.

you have no idea how to play Ele in WvW, I bet you never solo roam at all . If you solo at all in WvW you’ll know that you spent 1/2 the time running from zergs. I wasn’t going to waste my time to argue with you but I will just so you don’t mislead new players. A good Ele should win 1 v1 99% of the time, 1 v2 is doable 80% of the time. 1 v 3 you can pull off 1/2 of the time and once in a blue moon you can do a 1 v 4.
Since we are talking about mobility and disengaging from a fight. We are talking about at some point you realize you are not going to win. Chances are you are about to get kill at that point. So you pick up and just get out. It would be idiotic to stay and die when you can run off. The added benefit of getting away is that a lot of the times 1 or 2 people will break from the group and chase you cross the map. Once you isolated those people you can stop and kill them.
Gee thanks Mogar but I solo and small party roam 75% of my time in WvW, the other 25% of the time is leading my own party in guild events and that’s where I play it safe.
You on the other hand advocate blowing 3 cooldowns to disengage from 6 players. Good luck when you really need those cooldowns and you’ve just blown them for nothing… I will use everything I have if I’ve pushed too deep into 10-15 players who know how to use CC properly though.
How else are you going to push yourself? Baiting some chasers is a valid tactic I agree but gets old fast.

It only does in combat so it’s no use for just getting around. Also, the wiki lists all of the elemental skills.

Arcane V , which is a must for any build imo. When you switch to air you get swiftness . Works all the time not just in combat.

Maybe. But if you can successfully get away easily, you can also lead them on a merry chase. That’s one guy tying down six others for however long they feel like chasing you.
