This build is really funny to play, and even if its not made for 1v1, you can manage to win a lot of fights, most of all beacuse of the blinds spam that we have with Fresh Air.

The signet of earth is there beacuse it’s probably the only way we have to drop both “Dragon Tooth” and “Fire Grab”, and that’s our best burst combo combined with Air attunement istant cast skills.

IMHO 10% more damage above 90% health is nowhere near good enough to love evasive arcana.

Actually, you really don’t need EA in a good burst build. The whole point is to kill them as quickly as possible by doing as much damage as possible. So the healing from EA isn’t important. Kill them before they get the chance to even hit you.

Actually, you really don’t need EA in a good burst build. The whole point is to kill them as quickly as possible by doing as much damage as possible. So the healing from EA isn’t important. Kill them before they get the chance to even hit you.

EA also gives blast finishers, burning and most importantly, an aoe blind. Also the OPs build isn’t really a burst build seeing as it has 500 healing and uses valkyrie.

Yeah i dont really think EA is a must, i really think that that trait is overrated now, it WAS a must when every attounement was a blast finisher and the heal in water was double, but now i prefer 10 points in water basically for the master minor trait (and Vital Striking).
Yesterday i did sum tounry with Berserk/Valk instead of Valk/Berserk, it basically change precision for toughness, this i do a lot more dmg, and is probably better in a team, but i cant hold my own in most of the 1v1s

Would appreciate if you posted some quick hotjoin videos. The build looks nice but my problem is not the loss of EA. Its the 11 sec attunement recharges that I cant handle if I spec 20 arcana instead of 30 :-(
Same with trying 10 water instead of 20. The 15 point trait makes so much difference that it is stupid.

After a lot of experimenting, I am back to 0/20/0/20/30 wtih s/d lol.

I dont understand how the master minor in water can be worth giving up fresh air. You get double the fury essentially, instant damage that can be procced when you’re stunned plus more frequent access to the very reliable burst of air 2 and 3. Not to mention taking 10 percent extrs damage in air with the master minor arcane trait means you get essentially flat 10 percent damage on any attunement with the constant air cycle.

I am struggling with the build bosted by the op with divinity runes, valk/zerk combinations, and whether to do 20 water 20 arcana, 10 water 30 arcana or 10 earth 30 arcana. I hadnt thought of signet of earth. I usually ran mist form for stomping and resing, arcane shield and blast.

Everyone who ever read the tooltip assumed it would work with those type of effects (earth adept minor, for example) but it is either bugged or poorly wordeed.

its neither. it used to work with all bonuses from all attunements. essentially, you could take the 20% dmg water trait and the 10% traits from other lines, swap twice and be doing 40% dmg. if you also had bolt to the heart, you could do +60% damage (and this isnt counting scholar, earth25 or water25) on low health targets. This doesnt sound that scary given that they only linger for 5 seconds, but when you fire off 2 arcane spells and lighting in that time… its scary.

they nerfed it so it now only effects minor traits (toughness, flame barrier, 10% run speed, soothing mist). soothing mist is the only one that puts an icon on the screen.

Like some one pointed out, it wont work at the momemnt. If you try both builds in skilled duels you will notice the drastic difference.

The main power of water 15 lies in the fact that you can use it when stunned/mistform etc making it essentially a 2k hp heal on demand every 9 seconds irrespective of cc and disables. Traditional non GC fights can easily last upto 27 seconds giving you almost 50% hp back though that single trait.

Fresh air is nice in paper. But when you want to swap out of air to proc fresh air again, you will start attunement spamming. While this is beneficial in pve, in pvp if you spam attunements blindly you are going to be in a lot of trouble against smart opponents (ones who nuke you when your done with earth or condition spam you when your done with water and play more aggresively when your done with fire). A well timed 7+ second chill when you do not have water attunement or a utility is a death sentence.
Attunment swapping is effective but mindless swapping is more of a danger when your pvp-ing.

The water trait is actually part of one of our strongest pve builds. essentially you combine sigil of intell (crit on attunement swap) with the 20% water trait and the 60% chance to cause vulnerability air minor. do some damage, cast a heavy hitter, and just as its casting swap to water for bonus damage and a forced critical. This is real easy to execute on slow heavy hitters like churning earth, dragons tooth, etc.

I’m too lazy to measure the run speed or flame barrier, but the toughness from Earth adept minor definitely disappears immediately upon switching out of Earth attunement.

Having played a thief, engineer and warrior extensively, I don’t believe it would be overpowered to have a build that could drop a low health target. Being the lowest health/defense class and NOT having the ability to burst like the other classes I mentioned doesn’t make sense. You already can line up all those damage traits except the +10% in fire and air, so at most it would be an additional +20% damage, and require a bit of a wonky build and blowing through 3 attunements without actually using them then blowing all/most utilities. My thief can hit 6-8k every 3-4 seconds and you have to guess where and when I am coming from, no combo to setup and only one trait required for the build (which is conveniently in a damage line anyway).

tl;dr Didn’t work in beta, doesn’t work now. Wouldn’t be OP if it did work anyway.

Sorry i could not reply in this days, i did some small changes in the build, it’s now a real burst build, even if it’s not the ultimate version.
Here it is, this is the version i’m using now in spvp and tpvp:

Another version of the build that is still experimental, but that offer the best peak burst, is this:

in this last version we have 10% more dmg in our burst and 1 more istant cast skill that hit really hard, sigil of fire.

I think that a lot of people did not realize this, but from the last patch we’re actually the BEST burst class in the game.
I play a lot on my warrior and mesmer too, and the dmg got nerfed in both classes, in fact you dont see a lot of shatter mesmers or 100b warriors anymore in tpvp.
With this build we have this skills:
1) Lightning Strike
2) Electric Discharge
3) Arcane Blast
4) Arcane Wave
5) Sigil of Fire
That all do dmg in the same time due to the istant cast.
Most of the time you can enter the riot, target a guy with 50% life and burst him down in one second, stomp him with Arcane Shield or mistform, than RTL away, and the most awesome thing is that all our burst skills are on low coolddown, so we have our full burst rotation every 24 seconds.

Just some important tips:
1) This is not a 1v1 build and you should not engage 1v1s
2) Save RTL for fast escapes, never use it and the beginning of a fight
3) Stack might on yourself everytime you can, i usually enter a fight with 12 stacks of might, dont use arcane wave for the blast finisher if u’re goin to need it in 24 seconds
