A sigil with the same stacking mechanic of bloodlust, then switch out for 5% damage or crit chance!
Sigils will share the same cooldown if there is one. The cooldown for Sigil of Battle is 9 seconds during that time Fire sigil would be on cooldown too. If every 9 seconds you switch weapons, the Sigil of Fire would never have a chance to proc. Or, if you proc the Sigl of Fire, both sigils would then be on a 5 second cooldown and if you changed weapons the Battle would not proc.
Being D/D I have been experimenting with different sigil combos and came across something interesting with the Sigil of Generosity (60% chance to transfer a condition to your foe on critical hit). Seems obvious that in order for this sigil to activate you need to have a condition on you. What does not seems so obvious is that if you equip Sigil of Generosity in the main hand and another sigil also with a cooldown in the off hand (and you do not have a condition on you) the off hand sigil will proc.

Eles have so many ways to remove conditions, it just seems to be that generosity would be a waste. I can see this with many other classes though.
IMO, Force or Battle are the two best OH sigils. With 30 points in Arcana and switching every three seconds, you can manage up to something like 7-8 stacks of might. I am not sure how this compares to a static 5% damage increase though.

I would guess that Nullification and Purity would work the same way but I have not tested them. The reason I am considering using Sigil of Generosity in my main hand (Sigil of Battle in the off hand) is not only for the condition removal but the ability to transfer that condition to my target. It will either add to the conditions that I already apply (bleeds, burns, chill, etc.) or add a condition to my target that my elementalist normally can not do (poison, confusion, etc.).

“Sigils will enter cooldown even if they have no actual effect. For example, a Sigil of Purity will trigger and enter the 10s cooldown even when the wearer has no conditions. "
