Diamond skin and serrated stones are fine, however if they wanna merge the Crits cause burn trait and deal more damage to burning foes trait that’s be awesome!

And keep in mind if they combine traits they’d need to fill that gap with a new one, making it harder than you suggested.

PS: for the love of god buff that minor adept trait Anet =D

I really wish they would actually read some of the suggestions people make on the forums of how to balance the class. most of the time it seems like they just have a monkey throwing darts at something on the wall to pick out what to screw up on us next. Good idea, but most likely they wont see it. they tend to go to the thief forum for suggestions on how to balance us, which is usually “i’m a noob playing a godmode class who can’t win by spamming 22222, stealth, 2222. Please fix this. Nerf ele some more!” And that’s how they balance us.

Armor of Earth trait + Aura Protection trait should really be 1 trait. AOE proc has 90 seconds cd and protection on auras isn’t that useful because with the stun aura you don’t even get hurt much anyway.

They actually do if you go to the warrior forums the remove conditions for adrenaline use came from the forums as well as 1 or 2 other traits suggestions that warriors received. They also got the damage nerf they asked for to go along with it.

At the OP if they changed that adept minor on earth to what you suggested I would drop 5 points from water for that trait.

Stun aura doesn’t work against ranged. Though it does work against some sceptre skills I’ve noticed. I have a lot of stuff to test tonight, but I need to know what skill it is that is getting me stunned lol

I am really frustrated that the diamond skin trait does not synergize with the other active toughness boosts in the earth trait line (obsidian flesh, scepter earth 2 etc).

If those worked correctly and they fixed on weapon swap next attack sigils, we can have some nice condition builds going.

yeah, something to consider.. i notice the minor traits in master tier cause at-location blasts for fire and earth.. air is highly inconvenient outside of pvp as it causes an at-target or a find-target lightning strike.. really, annoying when you attune to air and enter combat mode from some nearby ambient creature z_z
i think in the fire trait line they might want to switch adept minor with master minor.. as elems not heavily using the fire trait line would want the at-location blast and the players sinking traits into burning would have <flame barrier> accessible to them as they climb the fire trait line

I think they changed the air attunement proc some timeago not not fire anymore if you’re not in combat.

I can see this suggestions premise but I think the point of all the adept minors is synergy with lingering elements. I believe all of them work except earth (which would be great if it did). If they did that for fire they would probably have to do it for all of them. Then if they did switch them those adepts would not be good master minors at all.

Only the minor water trait works with lingering elements. Which is a kitten dirty shame.

Changes to fix the elementalist traits.

1 – Change attunements to 12 sec base recharge and make intelligence give half the benefit of what it does now. (a better idea is to make lingering elements baseline to all eles and make the arcane traits increase the duration of lingering elements by 2% per trait point)

2 – Change fire aura/shield to burn enemies for a longer period when hit and add some defensive component instead of gaining might. (blind enemies when it or redirect melee damage taken as some have suggested).

3 – FIX LINGERING ELEMENTS (this is in caps because this is the single greatest fix we can ever receive). If this functioned properly, we can create combos such as the earth/air/fire minor traits in other atunnements and also create combos with certain attunement traits (piercing shards/air training etc) we could look at a whole new set of cross attunement builds.

4 – Tweak some traits in the fire trait line (embers might + burning precision). Flame barrier should have a 20% chance to grant fire aura when hit and the one with fire trait should increase this chance plus give a small chance to proc it when attacking. This will work very well for aura synergy.

5 – Tweak minor traits in air/earth lines to give more movement and toughness. (I say 20% movement and 160 toughness should be good).

6 – This is a personal change i want. Fix diamond skin to work with your characters TOTAL toughness at every instant so that other traits/skills increasing toughness temporarily can improve condition damage.

These changes will make me quit all my other classes and spend 100% on the ele lol

I really, really wish they would fix the fire trait line. I decided right away when I first made an ele in beta that I wanted to be a fire mage. But it’s just SO bad. It’s not that the other traits are too good, fire sucks HORRIBLY. Knowing Anet though, they will most likely nerf all the other traitlines until fire is the best one we have rather than actually fixing fire to make it good. I even picked the fire jewel as part of my character’s story. Still wear it too after transmuting it. sigh

People on here have made tons of suggestions on how to improve our lesser used traits like fire and earth, but they don’t seem to even notice or care. I hope they see this though. Moving around and combining a lot of our crappy traits would help a lot.

Sunspot should make a short smoke field when attuning to fire. It would give some very limited access to stealth (just like engineers) and is not unheard of for eles seeing as we can already stealth underwater.

yes, that’d be a new condition for elems.. ‘causes damage along with 60% chance of knockdown every 3 seconds for 6 seconds’

I love this. Really hope they would do that. They’ve already proven they can add in new status effects like torment to certain classes. If we had a status effect that did continuous knockdown it would make a lot of our crappier, long cast spells a hell of a lot better. Be easier to nail someone with dragon’s tooth if they keep falling on their face. And why they hell am I calling it status effects? I mean conditions. Been playing too much Phantasy Star lately.

That would be far to strong for an adept trait.
