Well played power with interrupts can wreck us. So can book corruptions, and so can condi warriors that know what they are doing.
Stop us during wash the pain away or water overload and catch us with some cc/burst after blowing obsidian flesh and we’re pretty squish.
Interrupts, interrupts, interrupts.
Overload Water and “Wash the Pain Away” are both channeled, so they go on full CD when interrupted.
Berzerker summerized it nicely. Time the interrupts and force out Obsidian Flesh. We’re squishy enough afterward to force us off of a point or away from teammates.
Let’s get straight to the point.
Professional power boon-strip lockdown shatter Mesmers can take a bunker 1v1
D/P thieves with very well timed interrupts can take you on 1v1
Plague necros can take you on 1v1 (you’ll run out of healing options and your diamond skin will eventually drop out of effect as your heals are gone)
Condi warriors with timed interrupts
But more to the point an ele will never engage 1v1 for more than 30s. If your on a playing tier where professional shatter mesmers exist they won’t be allowed to target you anyways.

As for the OP, yeah others have mentioned it pretty well, lots of CC and interrupt those 2 crucial skills and it’s gg. Most people don’t seem to have realised you can usually focus the ele in a team fight (unless there’s a necro present) and they will die pretty easily or be forced away, once that happens the rest of the team is ripe for pickings.
ele in 1vs 1 is not immortal at all. Ele is immortal , as druid when 2 are on the same point. In that case the only thing to do is to outrated them fighting in the other 2 points
If there are 2 ele on a point don´t bother. The will stall out annything up to 3 oponents. The best weapon to bring is a necromancer. Good warrior or thief can also bring ele down. I hate it if a warrior sticks on me but most dangerous oponent is necromancer i nan teamfight. If he is not focused he can ruin poor ele …
I die mostly to the mentioned classes.
Necro: I can 1:1 them with about 50% rate but in a teamfight i can´t stand a necro i he is protected or not focused.
Warrior: A bad one will be more of a stalemate is he triggres adrenal health. A good one will wear me down but usually can´t burst me.
Thief: If he tries to duel he looses or won´t even endanger me, but the good ones strike at very bad moments and then can down me.
Other classes are not such a great threat from my experience (OK mesmer is dangerous). Bunkerish builds are stalemetes. Ele has problems to bring down a lot of builds, but that´s not his main job.
