which Elite skill we would use?
Wait for next patch
I keep Elementals on there, use it once in a while.
in PVE
fgs? no
tonardo? noso…. elementals?
is this really best choice for us?
The mobility on FGS shouldn’t be ignored, sure it isn’t used on fights for the most part but skips it’s nice. And Earth Elemental can be nice, as well as Water… then fire as a go to when you just figure more damage is nice.

Ele Elites are actually really good. FGS mobility is useful for all sorts of things (organized teams use them to rotate in sPvP, speedclear teams to move through stuff faster, gives an escape in WvW). The Elemental gives a good AoE heal or the Rock Elemental can be an actual tank because it somehow does a good job of pulling aggro, not entirely sure why. Tornado is pretty terrible ever since the nerf though, I’ll give you that. ^^;
But the elites Eles have are overall pretty strong.
I use FGS just b/c I like being able to get around quickly. Also, the damage from FGS isn’t bad (just don’t use the 4 skill except for mobility b/c its damage is bugged and worthless at this point).
Tornado does more harm than good, so is useless.
Elementals can be useful in pve to tank for you. One easy strat for solo-ing wvw camps w/o much skill is to cast the earth or water ele and let it tank for you in a corner while you aoe everything down.
At least they made FGS cast-able while moving. It would be a really poor mobility choice if it still rooted you too!
Tornado sees much lesser use than other elites but it’s not entirely useless.
When I duo Q with friends who experiment on squishy builds and when they do not ask for FGS, I take Tornado. It’s surprisingly good to deny enemy res, against decapping thief and as an emergency skill to quickly res your ally. The bonus stat/ HP is a blessing, but if I get spammed with condi, I’ll get down very fast. But it’s not a bad skill.
In the Aetherblade fractal, team usually stacks in a corner to cleave the vet and the golems. If the group doesn’t have enough stability, you are guaranteed to be pulled off the safe ledge and take damage from the low laser beam. I see a splendid use there with Tornado. Not only it gives you enough stability to stay safe, you can constantly CC the mobs into the corner so your group has an easy time to cleave them. What’s more? You can spam blind to them like crazy and nullify most of their confusion attack. Score! Last time I tried this out, not a single noob in my level 49 pug got down and that was a really pleasant surprise.

Reaper of Grenth is really OP for ele, especially if you have a human one. Imagine some of the hardest bosses in the game. Grawl shaman? Chill him while he is in his bubble form and you can even solo the shield. Mai Trin? Chill and poison her so you can always backpedal and max melee attack her. (The kitten has increased walking speed, btw). Lupicus? A timely chill can put his annoying AoE spray on a longer CD, more breathing room for you, less dodge required.
I guess it’s too OP to use in PvP x) (It’s a joke, I know it’s a racial skill)

Our Elites are not as strong as he suggests when compared to other classes. FG was good for the DMG as well as the mobility. After the nerf the ONLY thing it is good for is running or trying to catch someone as long as the class is not a nike warrior or a thief. Tornado is only good if you use it on a wall or some kind of choke point. Even then the radius so small that any class with a range weapon can kill you long before you knock them down. The DMG is also very meh. On top of those things confusion and torment will rekt you before you can do anything of note. On the positive side it does give you stab for the duration.
