i dont understand this guy. at first i was all cool etc. but now when i have levelled up this guy sucks and bad. get two hits and your dead no matter what armour etc you have. is this some kind of glich or is this guy here just for some demo usage beacuse you dont need and you cant do anything with this guy after the starting missions. i got stuck on my story mission beacuse of the level downing system i have lv 17 armours and weapons and the mission is for lvl 8-10 i think but they have no effect on anybody on this mission and enemy does two strikes on me and its ower. running dosent help beacuse they hit you 360 from their position and much farther than our players ever can. after you start exploring an doing other races missions to lvl up you die even against lvl 4 enemies and yes two to fife hits is enough. healing dosent help at all you get 100-200 energy and enemy takes it avay with next hit. i really wish they make this guy tougher and soon. and whats with the limitations with the weapons it would be so much cooler to use all weapons with all classes. you could really find the battle system you like to use best.

You gotta keep moving and use your active defenses, its not a stand there and press nuke kind of class.

One thing that may be getting you, and I’m not sure because I didn’t see your level in your post, but…

The way downscaling works is that your equipment will always be effective relative to your level. So like, if you are level 40, and you are wearing level 17 stuff, you will be a piece of crap in a level 5 event. Because your gear is 23 levels below your REAL level.

So you basically HAVE to keep your gear close to your level, or you will suck regardless of what you are downscaled to.

earth is good to use + what the guy’s say’d before use active defense what uses fatigue, i have ele & i can survive, yes sometimes i die, u cant expected to be immortal, & yes it not the strongest, well depends who plays ele, fire is also good at the beginning but earth dose better DPS & kills faster, & when u get lvl 11 & start to take traits & know how to build then u will be good with it, if it sucks to u & its hard for u then u ton’t know how to play ele, i mean the flaw is with u not with ele

good build if u want to survive long battles, i tested it in are were u can reset & try meany builds but u will be back to normal when u return to game, it also kills fast & u can switch to water sometimes to support ur group, heal, but its also useful to u2

Why is there Elementalist?…

Well aside from this being a total troll post, I will give it a stab..

Because nobody else can bring the blingity bling blang like the Elementalist can!

Also, circle strafe. I just soloed a champ + a veteran and some assorted trash with my elementalist… took a while, but they just couldn’t hit me, I was circle strafe kiting them the whole time.

Doesn’t work so well with ranged mobs, but you got plenty of defense for that. And don’t forget to switch attunements all the time. Never sit in a single element longer than necessary. Do that and PvE is mostly a breeze.

It’s mostly a learn to play issue. Not fun to hear that, I know. I don’t like it either when I lose yet again to a thief in WvW, but it’s still true. But the bottomline is: the elementalist is only as good as its player. Other classes have some backups. Eles don’t.
