Q:
I just got out of WvW, facing off against another P/S Tool Kit Engineer. Everything was fine, I chased her down…
Then 10 seconds of IMMUNE while I continuously shot at her.
She had already popped her Elixir S…her 25 percent Self Regulating Defenses also popped.
She didn’t Toss an Elixir S or any other Elixir.
Unless I’m missing something, what in our arsenal does that?
This was such a surprise that I didn’t have time to do a screencap. And I don’t have FRAPS.
Any thoughts? I would think that one of us would know about this…
A:
If you were seeing immune, were you using a condition build? Might have been the Automated Response that kicked in.
At 25% hp, become immune to condition. If you hit him with condition, it will show immune, but will still do direct damage. Tho with pistol gun it won’t be much.
Since you say it popped immune, I would look for that!
Edit : Siofra beat me to it! Daammn you! :P
Where were you located? Maybe she entered one of those immune areas near spawn.
If you were in WvW and the message said ‘Immune,’ then it was either at his spawn or he was abusing a bugged area. There are several well known areas where you can get the Determined buff in WvW that are outside of the spawn.
It was between Cliffside and Garrison. Halfway to the Garrison is when the IMMUNE kicked in…on the left side of the road leading to the Garrison.
I’m not trying to be ‘that guy’. I’m just curious if I missed something. I have played an Engineer long enough to know that I have never had that happen to me
I know there is the Determined buff, but I don’t know how that works, to be honest. If that is how it works, then that’s fine. I’m cool with it.
Well I don’t know about 10 seconds as “IMMUNE” but if you include block in there then I could see close to 10 seconds.
Watch the TANKCAT video to get an idea of how long that build can go without you landing a hit before he gets inside a keep.
http://youtu.be/0pfO5s9pi0c about 30 seconds in.

Immune is not the same as invulnerable.
Blocks also shows up differently.
It might have been the automated response trait.
“Immune” shows up pretty big and your base damage that you we’re still doing might have been lost (to you) in the heat of the moment.

Totally forgot about Automated Responses. I was tagging her with Poison Dart Volley along with Explosive Shot. That makes a TON more sense.
Thanks for the clarification. I wasn’t trying to scream HACK! BLAH BLAH!! Just wanted to make sure!
Yeah I don’t see a lot of people using this GM master trait, it’d always a surprise when I witness it.
Well, she could have used Elixir-S, then also had the trait: Self-Regulating Defenses, and finally been using Vampirism Rune set (basically gives you Mist Form at like 10%-25% hp). I “think” that they are all the same buff and probably stack in duration.
That would be Elixir-S (x2), and Mist Form= ~10 seconds?
Its something you could look into in the sPvP zone, though.

Automated Response increased my survival rate in heavy combat situations significantly when I switched to it, as it drastically reduces HP loss when health is low and #6 is on recharge.
The Alchemy trait line doesn’t do a lot for DPS but has some nice rewards for survivability. E.g. 30 pts gives extra vitality, +30% boon duration and a further +20% on elixirs (Fast Acting Elixirs), 20% shorter cooldown on elixirs (Potent Elixirs), and Automated Response (swap out for HGH =extra Might in zergs).

theoretically yes, but if I read the OP I gather all these options had been covered already…
Most likely the immune to condition damage below 25%, seems cleared now.
Especially since he was using mostly condition damage on the ‘immune’ target.
