Advice On Building P/P Needed
I don’t understand how someone can do p/p and NOT get coated bullets. IMO it’s a necessity

not neccesarily. especially if you’re bringing a off hand pistol. as the trait doesn’t effect the offhand pistol even one bit.
Seeing how this build revolves around Pizza so WvW some one told me forget Condition duration as you will never get 25 stacks up in a group so just go for a x6 runes of choice. Thoughts?
I guess it depends on how you play WvW
I am definitely not the type of guy to follow zergs 100% of the time and either prefer solo/duo/party roaming
some things you just need to trial and error, if you build suits your play style then go for it

well the one that told you that got no clue what he is talking about.
the purpose of condition duration is not just to stack bleeds up to 25 true that engineers cant and will never stack that high.
but condition duration do have some value to us go do this test:
go to the mists and take a pistol, then get 4 afflicted rune and 2 lyssa dont put any points in any traits.
this will give you 15% to your poison an 15% to your bleed and 10% to all condition so its effectively 25% and 25%.
go to a golem and fire poison dart volley.
every dart is 2s all darts=10s for a total of 10 ticks, one tick every second.
with the runes you will see 12 ticks so…you get 2 ticks extra …2 ticks more= more dmg.
as for bleeds stack only 2,every bleed is 2sec and tick every second,so 2 stacks is 4 ticks one every second.
with the rune it will tick 5 times so…one extra tick.
go full condition damage and you will never get this much extra dmg (you will have more dps).
so to recap condition duration is more overall total damage, meaning if you have the time to melt someone this is more for you (note that the more time your enemy have a condition on him the more time he have to use something to get it off and then you lose more then you gain).
if you want to hit someone as hard as you can in a short time window (you can call it condition burst) then condition damage is for you(note that it will do significantly less damage the more the fight prolongs).
*this is a 101 i can post the math if someone wants but fyi its really easy and everyone can do it.
*if you do go test this(or any condition on any profession) don`t look in the duration timer on the target ui (it doesn’t always show the correct duration) just count the
ticks as you see the damage figures roll.
*this does not mean the more you stack duration the more benefit you get, there are breaking points that will diminish the value of it.
*someone really needs to do a engineer condition duration table (not it!!!).
i hope this helps
Thanks, is there a sweat spot between damage and duration?
I’d say 50% duration since it’s really easy to obtain. Enough to have permanent poison on a target and to have 3 second bleeds.

imo no less then 25% no more then 65% so yea 50% is good spot to stop.
and Maskaganda you can get perma poison with hair trigger as long as you use on cd so burn/bleed is what you wanna look for (same duration table anyway).

thats highly dependent of how many hits you get with poison dart tho, but yea, you are right

Don’t forget tuning crystals for the extra condition damage.
How is this playing for you? It looks like power and condition damage is awfully low. It looks tanky but can you kill anyone with it?
