Hey all! I recently got the Plated Sniper Rifle (Something i’ve been wanting for a long time) and i want to move to using a rifle in pvp rather than P/P or P/S.
The main issue is that i enjoy playing bunker/survivability builds and rifle seems to be more power precision focused.

- The Question – Does anyone have a good bunkerish build for rifle or any good Rifle builds to take a look at in general? (I am also not afraid of using kits)

Thanks! – Zombie Lottery

I’m currently testing a cleric’s gear rifle bunker with bombs, elixir gun, elixir S, and med kit. It’s pretty weird, to be honest, but I think it’s actually only a little less effective than guardian or ele at point control.

I need to play more matches with it before I know if it’s actually viable or not, but the combination of control and healing is actually pretty good.

Seems interesting. I generally play point bunker in TPvP and prior to getting this rifle i used mines, bombs, and thumper turret on a toughness healing build to hold until a dps would assist. it worked well, but change may be good.

Like NevirSayDie, I think a bunker bomb build is very good with a rifle.

Cleric’s gear with Elixir Infused Bombs goes a long way. It synergizes well with rifle because of the power you will have. It has great survivability especially if you grab Tool Kit or Elixir Gun (Elixir S will have great value with your high healing power). Though the survivability may be just a notch below Ele/Guard like NevirSayDie mentions, I think it makes up for that in the ability to control the node itself. Meaning if they are on the node they have no choice but to eat every single one of your bombs. If they are off the node, you have it controlled and you can still survive quite a long time if they just want to try to kill you from range. Rifle is also great at keeping them outside the node if they try and get in. Net Shot after Big Ol Bomb, or Overcharged Shot will keep them stuck outside the node while you cap.

Something like this would be a great place to start I think. Tons of healing and dodging, and if you time it right even a way to quickly get back up on the off chance you do go down. Just something I threw together, could go more into Alchemy if you were so inclined.

I’ve been playing Eng since beta and this is my favourite Rifle build. I’ll explain it…

10 points into Firearms to give you 20% regen on Rifle.

30 points into Alchemy to give you 30% boon duration + you 20% on Elixirs, Condition Removal, HGH (stack might).

30 points into Tools gives 30% crit damage + perma swiftness + 20% on tool kit regen and Throw Wrench gives a slow + 50% endurance regen.

You have so much CC here, a pull with tool kit, a shield with tool kit, toss Elixir U gets a wall to protect you from ranged. Net Shot holds people down, Overcharged shot knocks back and jump shot is powerful followup to net shot.

Using HGH and sigils of Battle stacks much might while you slip in and out of toolkit and the runes increase the stacks. I believe getting all might doesnt work (there is a cap when I tested it) so took 2 × 10% boons. You can hit up to about 20 stacks.

Here is my troll bunker build for spvp.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcAQFAUlIq6ZnrSfF1LJRoH4XwqFUB7KqQl/oQu0F;TMAgzCtM+A
(copy paste since forums suck with links)
with sitting duck, i can get 20+stacks on my enemy by using toolbelt net shot > net shot >net turret > overcharge > glue bomb while they are still imobo. I also drop fire bomb to cover the imob condition if they have the removal. after that i just pew pew with my rifle while they just sit there and do nothing.

if they get smart and try to kill my turret, they eat a kb with accelerant-packed turrets.
Healing turrets is nice, since it heals me twice with the water blast finisher while also blowing the enemy back.

you can also toss s for stability then overcharge shot or if you get stealth run into them and drop glue and concussion bomb before you are revealed.
(I like to be sneaky and stealth with s or blast finishers and creep up on someone on a point and drop glue followed by my net combo)

with all the cc, i have been able to cap points even when I’m 3v1.
the only downfall with this is the lack of condition removal, but you can probably switch s for c if it gives you problem.

This build seems to give thieves problems too so that’s a plus
