Mains — Mathias of the Wood [Ranger]; Collaborator Bluatt [Engineer]
Alts — Necromancer, Warrior, Elementalist
So, I finally got around to watching the Ready-Up about the specialization changes for Engineer, and I am actually really excited.
Right now, I am playing a hybrid conditions/heal/support build with ‘nades and bombs, and it is fun and (relatively) effective in WvWvW and SW (with some success in dungeons—Settler’s Gear Toughness lets me take Kudu’s kill-shot to the face without going down), and I am really excited to see the synergy between the Explosives, Inventions, and Tools lines!
I really want Mortar to be viable, and the abundance of (healing) blast finishers will really work well with how I like to play.
With all of the whining on the forums, I expected to be disappointed—and I wasn’t.
Looks great, I’m looking forward to playing with a lot of tools I couldn’t really bring myself to use as often as I wanted to because of the loss in damage. Now I’ll be able to use fortified turrets or experimental turrets. I’ll be able to do alchemy/inventions/tool builds while still keeping all my key damage traits.
So I’m pretty excited.
Give us cyborg spec!
I wanna see if Rocket belt thingy procs static discharge, an extra discharge shoot every 10 sec sounds great, just hope it aims properly.
I am excited about a lot of prospects this does provide. At the same time hoping that alchemy gets some interesting changes and a grand master trait that has more potential to give different builds. But can’t wait to see what will be finalized
I’m hoping the Elite spec gives an alternative option to the 3 kit (which will probably morph to 4 kit with Mortar) build in PvE. I like that there is a difficult build that is rewarding to those that want to play it, but there should be an alternative (that’s not the optimal build, but still viable) that doesn’t use 3 utility kits.
I do like the Invention Blast+Heal support. While it does seem broken on paper, I think this could be a new type of support. From a PvE point of view, that setup compliments the fire field blasting support while providing its own.
At the end of the day, I just want to smash things with a hammer, use non-kit utilities, and still be viable in dungeons and Fractals.
