So i was looking through all the medium armors and noticed that only ONE really says "engineer " everything else is suited for rangers and thieves . sure there’s eye goggles here and there and asura cultural armors but that’s just it there’s no love for this class.

I know man I have made several post of this matter but nothing yet, everything screams thief or ranger just 1 or 2 engii but not like lets said dredge light helm ,that scream engi but nooooo let give it to eles ,Mesmer or necro wtf we need something like that helm for us. In our traits on tools line we have pretty cool helm there a net should give us at least that helm real engi armor like a robot or something

This game is supposed to be about skins we don’t have great skins just googles and stuff like that , not good I prefer they implement new skins than the problem with the jobo sack My opinion

Somewhere in development the engineer was changed from a heavy armor profession to a medium armor profession. So it’s not the artists’ fault—they probably didn’t know their medium armor designs would be used for engineers until after many of them were practically completed.

Ive tried something simillar – make armor what make my engineer looks like engineer but on end.. I dont know.. Every engineer try same thing and all looks pretty much same – ugly medium coat (WvW or SE most times) karma hat from Orr and some crap from CoF – every engineer who try that end in this direction. (Now after Molten Facility is here jetpack witch looks great but there is no medium armor what will fit and its cliping badly with kit as usual.)
So i decide make opposite. Something how I wanna look not how my class force me to look. And result is hell of the lot better:-)

You can use armor of other Orders if you have alt there via transmute if you want:-)

While I don’t exactly look like an Engineer (ya know with gadgets hanging off me or something), i tried to create a look that is chunky and strong, not slick and trim like an assassin or thief. I’ve got shoudler armor that is transmuted from something that dropped for me at like lvl 65, my starter goggles, etc.

I find Anet’s lack of armor for the Engineer disturbing. Yet another nail in the coffin to the fact that our class was rushed.

I have come up with this look, its pretty good for engineer to me. But I would love more options.
(Of course its the preview option so ill work on colors once I do actually get the gear :P . I am still iffy about the pants.)

All of these images look like ninjas with guns and grenades lol. and in reference to being heavy armor anet should make it so that engis can be the only class to dual armor since they can’t even get a weapon swap/can only use 3 weapon types ever since i started this class i always though they felt too clunky to be medium armor and now i know why.

The coat for the leather crafted set is pretty good for an engineer.

My Heal-Bomber in medical theme. I do like the Asura armors pretty much across the types.

Yeah, not really a scenic backdrop but you get the idea.

Here is my engineer currently. Looks more like a guardian though so Ive heard. Defiantly has the metallic thing going.

Don’t know your race, but here are some of the armors I tried to make into engineer theme. I hope you can adapt some of these to your needs.

I’d love some “heavy armor” engineer medium armors, but I think these are pretty engineerish too. Now, regarding the last two attachments, you might say these scream “Ranger”, but to me they fit an engineer working out in the field, poring over his blueprints and analyzing data, sitting somewhere out in the field while dust and tumbleweeds blow all around him.

Ascalonian Catacombs armor is still my choice for engg, especially with the helmet showing and a shield equipped. Not too ranger-y or thief-y, can have a good kind of “soldier” look to it.

These are pretty good. i also find myself using the heritage armor quite a bit

IMO, the temple armor screams Engineer the most. Whenever I see a ranger wearing it I go “lol that’s silly. A western armor look with a bow”. =D

Yeah I have 4 sets of temple armor, the only other ‘chest piece’ I like is the rascals. I dunno when I think of engineer, I get the idea of ‘steam/diesel punk airship captains’, or wasteland wanderers from fallout…. A sort of cowboyish yet classy captain look.

I too rock the starter goggles. They really are the best for engis. I have the CoE chest on my asura and it looks really good imo. Everything looks different on asura so coupled with my CoF gloves & shoulders it looks pretty chunky and mean.

When I think of engineer, I think of the one in TF2 since we both have tools and turrets.

Heh, yeah I was thinking the same thing the other day, her gear would work fairly well in appearance… at least the helmet, anyways. She’s mostly just wearing clothes otherwise.

don’t worry guys, some day the charr will invent Kevlar for us.

I just hope they listen to us because people have been asking this for AGES NOW
