Ascended gear planning
I personally love Celestial gear and plan on making an ascended version of it when I can. By no means have I been in a group with that set and people think I do not contribute my fair share. If you want great damage, but don’t want the hassle of dealing with zerk gear then I highly recommend it. You can instantly apply any build you want with Celestial and it will do fantastic, albeit won’t be as specialized as the build typically would. If all else fails, just stick with what you know you will be comfortable using.
Celestial would be pretty poor for a hybrid condition build, all that crit damage is worthless with no power. It’s more for hybrid power builds.
A mix of rampagers/berserkers is what you would be taking if you wanted to run a dedicated 100% damage hybrid build. That aside the stat increases on the armor are tiny and I can’t see them having an impact on any fight due to the random nature of crits and procs.
That aside the main reasons I’d expect folks to craft ascended armor pieces would be:
-Maximum defense stats for a PVT or other defense orientated sets, since you get the extra defensive infusion slots and 60 points or so worth of toughness (from the extra defense) on top of the tiny stat increases. I wouldn’t bother with this personally but I’m sure some min maxers will want to.
-Extra AR if you don’t have all your trinkets or ascended weps, or if you are going over 50 (when they raise level)
-The pants for the 1% crit damage, which some berserkers min maxers will almost certainly be doing.
I crafted a full berserker set for my engineer but had no real motivation to do so other than misguided completionism.
I’m sure a few would also be crafting it for looks – I don’t like the skins but some people do… or just like to wear expensive things for the prestige. On the plus side, at least the heavy pants aren’t a skirt which is pretty rare in GW2.
