Auto attacks fixed... but kits are still inferior.
Auto-attacks for Grenade Kit & Bomb Kit (arguably our two most viable kits) have NOT been fixed.
Bomb kit auto attack does work, you just need to be in range.
I can confirm, bomb kit auto attack does work, grenades are GTAoE so auto-attack wouldn’t exist. What you’re asking for is the #1 skill to be a targetted AoE (ie, how it works underwater) which I would very much like as well but it would require some balancing* above and beyond simply changing the skill.
- grenade spam underwater is -very- powerful, it would absolutely be an issue on land in its present state if #1 could be auto-attacked. Yes, movement means it would miss against a single target, but in ‘zerg’ combat it would be absolutely devastating.
I don’t use kits because I use turrets. At least kits are getting fixes.

What makes you so sure about that? Weapons in sPvP have no stats so it’s a non issue there. It should be fixed for PvE. Stop spouting rubbish.

Kits don’t get nerfed in PvP.
Ergo, if kits are fine in PvP, then kits getting stats in PvE must be equally fine.

Right, but that is applied in PvE as well.
The situation is:
PvE= no stats, no sigils.
PvP= no sigils.
So you can’t argue that stats in PvE would be OP since it isn’t for PvP.
As for sigils, Anet promised back in the thread when they removed backdraft from the flamethrower, that they were working on sigils affecting kits. So it is coming. They never put a date on it though.
I agree, kits are still inferior due to poor scaling and lack of sigils. However, at Venoma’s post – ANet isn’t just going to implement fixes that make it easier to bot. Having bombs (which don’t even have a target in the first place, let alone a reason to have auto attack) have a non-target-requiring AoE just so you can spam a bomb in one place, isn’t something that an active player needs – only something someone who wants to abuse it would want.
Secondly, anyone thinking that a GTAoE skill needs to be auto-attackable for any reason other than target-snapping is in the same boat as the above player-types I just mentioned. It’s not about automating your gameplay.
I know, just saying we are still not getting stuff like promised.
@LoreChief – After 6 consecutive TA Explore runs, I’ve come up with an acceptable reason why Grenade Kit should have an auto-attack functionality of some kind: Spamming 1 that much gets to be tiring and/or painful.
Otherwise I mostly agree, heh.
I was all excited today with news of my autoattacking flamethrower, so I went in to WvW to melt a few faces.
First fight I found I popped flamethrower and toasted them….. and toasted them…. and toasted them. When they got to 30% health, they turned around and downed me from 100% before I even had a chance to reach for my heal key.
I love this class, but kitten it needs work.
just go to mists, take a rifle or pistol into the hand and you will realise that the weapon attack is higher than what the kits have and you dont get any benefits from sigils with kits. now imagine this would be pve or wvw, your gear not only has higher base damage, kits dont benefit from sigils but you also lose a nice amount of stats.
