You equip a kit and you’ll gain HP every second or so. Not much, but some. It’s not a boon, it just kinda happens when you get hurt.

Wiki says it heals for 125 flat at level 80, no changes from HP amount or Healing Power.

It doesn’t seem like much but it does help considerably because it starts working the second you take damage. So all those little hits get fixed up and you don’t have to waste your heal on it.

it does scale with healing power however you’d need like 900+ heal power for it to heal 200-250 hp every second or every 3 seconds whatever it was.

No. I just tested it with 1.2k healing power and it still heals for around 130, it’S kind of lame I’d rather get Regeneration (the boon).

Part of the benefit of the Backpack Regenerator and Dolyak Rune bonuses, in my opinion, is that they’re not a boon at all – they’re just an untyped recovery property that can’t be taken away, only counteracted. They also stack with other healing effects, like Regeneration or other untyped recovery properties.

Exactly. These only offer small healing amounts, because they are able to be stacked with the actual regeneration boon, and can’t be removed with boon stripping abilities. If these types of abilities were stronger, it would marginalize the regeneration boon.

if you’re making a bunker you dont want to pick between backpack regen or normal regen, i’d suggest you get both
it all adds up having as many little heals ticking as possible, also keep in mind you can use dwayna runes with med kit every 10 seconds for regen

Considering how few direct heals the Engineer has, it’s almost a certainty that any build is going to be using a Regeneration boon, unless they’re using the Medkit.

Also: Dolyak runes are pretty okay for another source of healing. With a bit of the old Bomb Kit and Elixir-Infused Bombs, can almost heal enough damage per second to completely offset some level 80 PvE enemies.

I actually like Backpack Generator for what it does.

The positive:

It’s a steady, unlimited source of regen that can’t be removed by anything.

It can be stacked with many other forms of healing and regen. (EG’s pulse heal, Regen boons, Dolyak rune 6-piece)

The negative:

It’s not affected by any +healing stats.

It’s a small tick. (125 every second means only 1250 every 10 seconds and 7500 every minute).

I enjoy the positives quite a bit. If you can get an enemy off you, you can stack two to three forms of healing on you and come back quickly.
