Backpiece for condi engi, pre-Viper
I believe Ad Infinitum can go Viper, but Sinister Back/Ear is a working combo. And you can always sub sinister for Rampager though it’s not as good. Rabid is an option but just can’t have too much of it due to toughness concerns.
Do you can transform a backpiece from one stat set to another in the Mystic Toilet?

No, some backs you can get a second choice by going to infused, but that’s it, and it only works on ones you get a selection with.

Ah, I didn’t know that about Ad Infinitum. Good to know. I’m still very far away from getting that though, so that won’t be viable for a while. Is there a way to get a Sinister back other than raids?
No non-raid Sinister Backpiece sadly. Had the same issue on my Ele that i ran condi for a while. I believe the substitute most use is Rabid which i think you can get as a Fractal Capacitor as well as the usual Asc Backpacks, including Mawdrey.
Ad Infinitum, since it is of Legendary quality, will always have all stat sets available.

Once you get the hang of the challenge motes, Ad Infinitum is not that hard. you need a couple of hours in the fracs of course, let alone for the Agony infusions you need. Also while building it you get an extra asc Backpiece in form of the Capacitor, as well as the precursor, Unbound, being a normally selectable asc back, that is already infused(!).
Now I don’t know how often you raid but if you aim for the raid BP, bear in mind that you have to go through multiple layers of chances to drop it unless you farm magnetite:
- You need to get a boss loot drop from Sabetha or Xera
- That boss loot has to be the BP
- It has to be the Malicious Version of said BP, since you can’t change the stats like on a weapon (as mentioned before in this thread)
If you raid on a somewhat regular basis however that should not pose any issue, since you can pile up 600 Magnetite pretty easily if you sell minis and salvage asc raid drops (like Energized loops from VG)
